The last update to Fortnite was a big one, adding the Star Destroyer into the game. We’ve already had quite a lot of Star Wars content over the month of May, but one of the most exciting features that they’ve been holding back has been the Fortnite Star Destroyer update. It’s going to be a huge mechanic where players can decimate the lobby from the sky.
We already have Fortnite X-Wings and TIE Fighters. However, the Star Destroyer will be joining them to complete the iconic Star Wars vehicles. Unlike the other two, though, the Star Destroyer isn’t going to be a general vehicle on the map to drive. It’ll be closer to the boss transformations we’ve had in the past, like Godzilla and Doctor Doom. This is what we know about the Fortnite Star Destroyer feature that’s coming.

How to Get the Star Destroyer
Now the update has hit and the Star Destroyers are in the game, how can you get it? It’s the same process as we saw for Godzilla in Season 1 of Chapter 6. These are the steps:
- Wait for the Star Destroyer Rift to Spawn
- Head over as fast as you can (It makes sense to land in the center of the map for this, so you have quicker access)
- Drive to the rift as fast as possible
- Enter it to take over the Star Destroyer
If you can get there first, you’ll be able to blast at enemies on the surface from safety. If you do miss out, it might be best to lay low for a little while!
Star Destroyer Update Release Date
The new Fortnite Star Destroyer update is going to be live until the next patch for the game. With just days left before the live event that ends the Fortnite season, when exactly will that be? We’re expecting the season to finish on June 7th. There wi’ll be around a week to enjoy the feature before we move on from Star Wars. Probably for a while at least.
