The announcement of a VALORANT tournament taking place at the upcoming Esports World Cup took the esports industry by storm. Many believed it to be only a matter of time since Riot Games announced a deal with the EWC. Following the news announcement, teams have started prepping themselves for the upcoming EWC VALORANT 2025 event. Recently, the qualifiers for teams in VCT Pacific concluded with DRX and PRX securing a spot in the upcoming tournament. Let’s look at how these teams qualified and what’s next for them.
PRX And DRX Secure Qualification for EWC X VALORANT 2025

The VCT Pacific x EWC qualifier consisted of a few phases: The group Stage and playoffs. Within the group stage, 8 teams were split into two groups of four. Each group had to play a single round robin format. Each match would be a best-of-one series. Following the group stage, from Group A, PRX Rex and Global Esports qualified whereas in Group B DRX and Team secret qualified for the playoffs.
In the playoffs we got to see PRX take on Team Secret with both the playoffs matches being a best of three series. The matchup was a one-sided affair with PRX winning 2-0. In the match between DRX and Global Esports, DRX dominated GE and secured a 2-0 clean sweep victory. This resulted in the grand finals being between PRX and DRX.
We had seen this match up recently during the VALORANT Asian Champions League tournament in Shanghai. During that match we got to see DRX secure the win with a scoreline of 3–1.
In the EWC X VALORANT qualifier grand final we got to see the opposite of that series. PRX secured the win this time with a scoreline of 3-1. As these two teams finished in the top 2, they qualified for the upcoming EWC VALORANT Tournament in Saudi Arabia.
