Pack Review and Top picks to consider

eFootball 2025 European National Team Selection May ’25

  • The May ’25 edition of the European National Team Selection pack has arrived to eFootball 2025.
  • Standout picks from the pack include Foden, Thuram, Gvardiol, and others.

The May 2025 edition of the European National Team Selection pack has officially arrived in eFootball 2025, and it brings a solid lineup of players representing some of the top European nations. This month’s selection has a few standout names that can elevate any squad.

With players like Josko Gvardiol, Phil Foden, and Marcus Thuram headlining the pack, questions remain whether it is worth spending coins. So, in this review, I’ll highlight my top 5 picks based on performance and usability, and give a quick rundown of the rest to help you decide if this pack is worth your coins.

1. Phil Foden

  • Position: RWF
  • Playing Style: Creative Playmaker

This version of Foden is a dream for players who would love a utility player who can fit anywhere. His dribbling stats are elite-tier, and he has fantastic acceleration, so dribbler’s dream. Place him out wide or even in central roles, and he’ll cook defenders with those sharp turns and smooth passes.

He’s not the strongest physically, but what you’re getting is someone who feels electric on the ball, with a strong final pass and enough finishing to threaten the goal himself. He’s a top-tier attacking midfielder or winger if you love fast-paced football.

2. Josko Gvardiol

  • Position: CB
  • Playing Style: Build Up

A good LCB card with decent pace, skills, and defending abilities. He’s physically dominant, boasts excellent balance for a center-back, and his jumping and aggression make him a nightmare to beat in the air. That combo of pace and power isn’t actually a rare find, but his player ID is pretty impressive.

Another advantage is that he adds abilities on the ball, so he can be excellent for building from the back. From what I’ve experienced from his other cards, he’s excellent in duels and strong when engaging strikers up close. A pretty dominant card overall.

3. Dejan Kulusevski

  • Position: AMF
  • Playing Style: Creative Playmaker

Kulusevski is yet another versatile attacker, somewhat sharing a similar profile to Foden with lesser offensive abilities but improved physical. He’s tall for an AMF, but don’t let that fool you, he’s agile, has great tight control, and can pick a pass easily with those impressive numbers.

What makes this card shine is his ability to hold off challenges while keeping the ball close. He’s also flexible in wide areas, but if you are doing so, you might need to amp up those speed and acceleration numbers. A mini-Nakata could be a good comparison.

4. Nuno Mendes

  • Position: LB
  • Playing Style: Offensive Wingback

Mendes is the kind of fullback who thrives in an attacking role. Blistering pace and elite stamina mean he’s up and down that wing nonstop, making overlapping runs and recovering quickly on defense. This card, in particular, makes him a nightmare for slow wingers to deal with.

While his crossing isn’t world-class, the volume of runs he makes and his recovery speed more than make up for it. He’s also defensively solid, with great balance and awareness. You can cut down on his pace to improve those other areas on the pitch.

5. Marcus Thuram

  • Position: CF
  • Playing Style: Goal Poacher

Thuram is built for chaos in the box. He’s a physical beast with size, strength, and solid finishing ability. In-game, he holds off defenders well and is surprisingly agile for his size. This card is for players who want a direct striker who can bully his way into chances.

eFootball 2025 European Selection Thuram

He’s not the most technical forward, but he brings a relentless presence in front of the goal. If you play with wide support or love sending in crosses, Thuram will make life difficult for defenders with his aerial strength and positioning.

Here are short overviews for other players:

  • Memphis Depay (CF/Deep-Lying Forward): Was confused who would be the pick between Thuram and Depay. Still a good all-round forward with both attacking and creative edge. Slightly behind the meta in pace, but great for link-up play. Better as an SS.
  • Orkun Kökçü (CMF/Orchestrator): A complete midfielder for an Orchestrating role with strong passing stats and skills being his best trait. Doesn’t scream to be the best card in its role and position, but does everything well enough to be a dependable squad member.
  • Anatolii Trubin (GK/Offensive Goalkeeper): Tall keeper with solid reflexes and reach. Safe pick for those who like their keepers tall and come off the line fast. Might be excellent in shot stopping given high arm coverage numbers.
  • Angelo Stiller (DMF/Orchestrator): Young defensive mid with excellent passing and stamina. High potential CMF card in him, can move around with the ball easily and brings in decent defensive attributes too.
  • Youri Tielemans (CMF/Box To Box): Smart passer with a high work rate and tidy on the ball. Doesn’t excel in one area, but his balanced stats make him great for controlling the midfield.
  • Nathan Collins (CB/Destroyer): Classic bruiser CB. Big frame, strong aerially, and aggressive in tackles. Lacks many skills, so not a very strong choice.

To be honest, I didn’t spin for this pack because of duplicates. But as a whole, this is a decent pack, and actually has a few usable cards. Strictly, I don’t see any standouts; they are just there, and if you can make them work, they can play well.

For those who are having a decent squad, I don’t see any starter material cards here, so I suggest you go for the English League Selection Apr ’25 pack, which is still live in the game, and has better options.
