Genshin Impact Version 5.6 introduces a Chronicled Wish Banner in Phase 2, going live from the 27th of May, 2025 till the 17th of June, 2025. The Version 5.6 Chronicled Banner will feature 5-star characters from the region Inazuma.

Genshin Impact Version 5.6 Chronicled Banner Details

During the “Thunder Rends the Plains on High” event wish, you can freely select and set a course for your preferred 5-star character. The Event exclusive 5-star characters available are:

If players lose the 50/50, they will obtain any of the rate-up characters that isn’t the character they selected. Let’s explain with an example: Suppose you set your course to Ayaka. If you lose the 50/50, you will get any of the other rate-up characters except Ayaka. But you do accumulate 1 Fate point.

With that point, your next 5-Star will be a guaranteed Ayaka. Keep in mind that Fate Points do not carry over. Additionally, only Inazuma 4-star characters can be obtained in the banners, such as Kuki Shinobu, Kirara, Shikanoin Heizou, Kujou Sara, Gorou, Sayu, and Thoma

Genshin Impact Version 5.6 Chronicled Banner: Who Should You Pull

1. Kaedehara Kazuha

Kaedehara Kazuha is just amazing. Like, genuinely one of the most useful characters in the whole game. He can group enemies, give elemental buffs, reduce resistance, and just make your whole team stronger. He fits into so many different teams like Hydro, Pyro, Electro, Cryo, you name it.

I honestly think he’s the most valuable unit on the banner if you care about long-term value. That said, if your teams don’t really need him or if you only use certain characters that don’t benefit much from him, he might not be essential for you. But in general, I think he’s a top-tier pull and still meta, even with all the newer supports coming out.

2. Kamisato Ayaka

Ayaka is honestly one of my favorite Cryo characters, especially if you’re into freeze teams. She’s a main DPS and can deal some solid damage, but the thing is, she shines when the enemies can be frozen. So if you’re fighting bosses or stuff that can’t be frozen, she kinda drops off.

But with the new character Escoffier coming out, freeze teams are gonna get a big upgrade. Escoffier can lower enemies’ resistance to Cryo and Hydro, give healing, and also deal Cryo damage while off-field. That makes her perfect for supporting Ayaka.

I feel like if you’re planning to build a freeze team and you like Ayaka’s style, this is a super good time to invest in her. Just keep in mind her burst is tricky, you’ve gotta land it just right or it can miss, which is kinda annoying. Still, she feels like a strong option if you’re into that style.

3. Sangonomiya Kokomi

Kokomi is one of my comfort characters, not gonna lie. I love using her, especially because she heals the team so well and also applies Hydro constantly. She’s not as “meta” as she used to be, though, since we’ve got a bunch of really strong healers now.

But if you want a chill healer that also works in bloom or mono Hydro teams, she’s still great. I don’t use her in freeze as much anymore, though, since Escoffier kind of replaces her there.

4. Kamisato Ayato

Ayato is kind of whatever for me now. I used to like him more when there weren’t as many Hydro options. He does okay damage and can help with reactions, but now that Neuvillette is here and just… better at a lot of things, Ayato’s kind of fallen off for me. He’s still usable, and I’ve used him to beat Abyss before, but I wouldn’t recommend him unless you just like his character or playstyle.

5. Yae Miko

Yae Miko is interesting. She’s an Electro character who can be played on-field or off-field, but I personally think she feels better on-field since you need to use her abilities properly. She can work in a bunch of team types like Dendro or Overload teams.

But honestly, if you already have a C6 Fischl or something like that, you might not need her because there are other Electro supports that can do more in some cases. Still, I like her style, and she can be fun if you enjoy that kind of gameplay.

6. Chiori

Chiori is kind of cool if you’re into Geo teams. She’s more of a sub-DPS and does better when you have another Geo character or a Geo construct in the team. She’s not the best in any specific team, but she’s flexible and can fit into a bunch of team comps. I like that you can use her with characters like Navia or even Zhongli, and she still works. If you’re not into Geo stuff though, she might not be worth it for you.

7. Yoimiya

Yoimiya is also one of those characters I’d say you only pull if you like her. She focuses a lot on single-target damage, and while that’s okay in some situations, other Pyro characters just do more, especially with newer supports. She’s playable, but not really meta. I don’t find her super exciting compared to others like Arlecchino or Lyney.

8. Arataki Itto

Itto… okay, so I don’t hate him, but he’s pretty mediocre. Like, he can clear content if you build him right and give him the right supports like Gorou, but other DPS characters feel stronger or more versatile. He’s super niche and mainly for Geo fans. If you’re not really into Geo or don’t have the right team for him, you probably won’t get much out of him.

Is the Chronicled Banner worth it

So yeah, that’s my rundown of all the characters on the chronicled wish banner. Some are super flexible and still strong like Kazuha and Aayaka (especially with Escoffier), while others like Itto or Yoimiya are more niche and mostly for people who like them. I think it just comes down to who you like playing and how they fit into your current teams.
