With Mandalorians all over the island, there’s one weapon in Fortnite that players will be searching for, the Amban Sniper Rifle. There’s a handful of new additions in the update but this is the most exciting of the new weapons. When it’s dual pistols or a formerly Mythic Sniper, it’s an easy pick.
The Mandalorian weapon of choice isn’t as rare as it used to be either. If you’re a long-time player, you might remember the Amban Sniper from past Fortnite seasons. The new Sniper Rile should be in the game as of the latest Fortnite update, and you can start collecting the weapons now! The Amban Sniper Rifle has changed around quite a bit. It’s no longer a Mythic. It’s now available in various rarities and findable in general loot.
That means you only need to open chests and various containers until you find one. There is no special trick this time! It’s nice to see a cool weapon like this in general loot rather than being limited to just one player.
Why has it Lost Mythic Status?
Since it’s had a big alteration this season, what’s changed? There are a few differences, but it hasn’t lost functionality. The weapon still works as both a Sniper and Melee. It also comes in various rarities, from Common up to Mythic. The basic weapon doesn’t have stats on the level of the original Mythic. However, the better rarities can still compete.
It uses the infinite ammo that all the weapons have this season, and gets a headshot multipler of 2.35x. Since this is a one-shot sniper, it makes sense for it to do decent damage. The base damage of even the highest rarity though is 110. Which is going to be make it tricky to compete with the Marksman Rifle, since that has multiple shots.
The new Amban Sniper Rifle is not as strong as the original, given the best guns in the loot pool right now. However, in a lower mobility season like this Snipers have a certain appeal. Players don’t have much counter player to a hard-hitting scoped weapon. If you track down the better versions of the Amban Sniper Rifle in Fortnite it could be a key part of wins this season.
