Crunchyroll, LLC has launched their cozy adventure title, Shin chan: Shiro & Coal Town, now available on both Android and iOS via Crunchyroll Game Vault. The game first launched on Switch in February 2024 in Japan, with an Asia release in May, followed by a global PC launch in October 2024.

Shin chan: Shiro & Coal Town is a slice-of-life adventure title based on Yoshito Usui’s beloved series. You play as Shinnosuke or Shinchan, travelling between the mysterious Coal Town and a quiet village in Akita, and enjoying various daily activities.
The story starts when Shinnosuke’s dad, Hiroshi, gets a sudden job transfer near his hometown. The iconic Nohara family then moves to a small village in the countryside, close to Hiroshi’s parents. As a city dweller, I’m intrigued by how the peaceful rural vibes are captured in this game, as I miss that.
Things change when Shinnosuke and Shiro accidentally board a mysterious train, and with that, your journey between the two places begins. As someone who grew up watching the Crayon Shinchan series and movies, I’m eager to learn bug-catching and fishing from grandpa and enjoy this title.

You can do so much, from fishing for common and rare species in Akita’s rivers to catching bugs in the groves and forests. You can also grow veggies with grandma and use them in dishes. Over in Coal Town, you get to invent gadgets, help out the local diner with new menu items, and more.
This beloved title is part of Crunchyroll’s Ani-May celebration. That said, the game looks fun with its Shinchan series-like visuals, life-sim gameplay, iconic characters, nature book collection, various fun activities like Trolley Race, and more.
Shin chan: Shiro & Coal Town is now available on both Android and iOS. If you’re a Crunchyroll Mega or Ultimate Fan member, you can now download the game via your respective Google Play Store or App Store.
