One of the most slept on weapons in Fortnite Galactic Battle has been the blaster pistol, which is even better when you collect the Mythic DL-44 blaster! It’s a new weapon which has replaced an older Mythic. It can take a little while to get since it only appears later in the game. However, with enhanced stats it builds on the impressive base damage to make the pistol even more versatile.
With all the weapons transformed into blasters, it can be a bit tricky to know what to loot. A lot of players will instinctively skip pistols, since earlier Fortnite seasons only really had pistols suitable to be used in a hot drop. Lately though the pistols have actually become a lot better. Especially in the mythic form, which takes an over already strong weapon this season and makes it even better. As a Mythic it’s a one-of-a-kind gun that’s a little tougher to collect. How can you get it every game?

How to Get Mythic DL-44 Pistol
The new Mythic DL-44 Pistol is one of the Galactic Battle Mythics that’s obtainable in an older spot that’s had a different weapon each season. Despite now being two seasons away from the original Shogun and demon theme, the Shogun X fight is still in the game. In one of the later storm circles, a random spot is chosen and Shogun’s Arena spawns in. That’s where you can get the mythic blaster pistol. This is how to pick it up:
- Wait until the top 20ish players and the Shogun Arena to appear

- High tail it over to its location and float up with the wind sprites that spawn on the base
- Land, then begin the Shogun X fight
- With the new blasters he’s much easier to take down. Apply constant pressure, by the time one weapon is on cooldown, the others will have recharged

- Once he dies (it won’t take long with blasters) collect the Mythic DL-44 Pistol
The new mythic blaster pistol is being dropped by our old friend the Shogun X. As the seasons go by it gets weirder and weirder that he’s still in the game, but by now everyone should be pros at this fight! Doge to the side whenever he attacks and it won’t take much work to eliminate the boss. He’ll also drop a medallion that gives a shield bubble when you heal. Not as useful this season since attacks like Fortnite spaceship turrets go right through shield bubbles.
What Makes the Mythic Special?

Mythic weapons in Fortnite tend to come in two types, unique Mythics with something different to normal weapons, and enhanced guns. The Mythic DL-44 Blaster is one of the Enhanced weapons. Its main difference from the normal blaster pistol is better stats. The weapon is hitscan, and can fire 12 shots before overheating. It deals 43 base damage, which over 12 shots can be quite impressive provided you’re accurate.
We’ve seen some of the best Fortnite players pop off with this gun in the tournaments this season. Coming from Shotgun’s Island, you’ll have to wait a bit before you unlock it, but it’s perfect for cleaning up the last players in the lobby.
