Dive into a medieval world and defend your little kingdom against enemies in Thronefall
Thronefall is an indie real-time strategy that strips away the usual clutter and complex gameplay of the genre, offering a minimalist experience instead. In this game, you’re tasked with building and protecting your little kingdom through a day and night cycle, similar to titles like Nighty Knight: Frontier War TD.
You can look forward to your kingdom coming to life and facing off in intense battles against enemy waves to keep it safe. The gameplay also mixes hack-and-slay combat, which looks exciting. You can fortify your base during the day and use walls, archers, and more to fend off enemies at night.
You can either charge head-on into battles or hang back with longbows
That said, what makes the game more challenging is balancing your economy and defense, following a strategic approach. Plus, unlike traditional TD titles, you have full freedom to charge head-on with your horses into enemies, or just defend from a distance with a longbow.
With the game gaining overwhelmingly positive reviews on Steam, and its sleek minimalistic visuals, simple RTS mechanics, hack and slay mix, and more, it surely looks very fun and refreshing, packed with satisfying content.
Thronefall is now open for pre-order on iOS, and you can do so via the App Store. Moreover, the game is expected to launch on May 20, 2025, according to the App Store’s listing. No details about Android release is out yet, so stay tuned.
