BLAST Slam III has come to an end, and it’s safe to say that it was an amazing tournament. After an epic Grand Final, Tundra Esports defeated Team Falcons and lifted the trophy and claimed the $100,000 prize.
Aside from offering us epic games, BLAST Slam 3 also allowed us to see some of the best heroes in the current meta. Some picks us a lot, but it seems like most teams have figured out the 7.38c Dota 2 meta. There is a lot to discuss here, so let’s begin by taking a look at some of the most picked heroes.
(All stats you are about to see are from Liquipedia.)

The Most Picked Hero at BLAST Slam III
If we check the status following the tournament, we will see that Ringmaster and Jakiro share first place. Both of them appeared in 19 games in total, making them the go-to supports.
These two heroes have been among the hottest picks in the professional meta for a while now. Both offer a lot of damage output, CC, and are useful throughout the game. Unless Valve nerfs both of them in the next update, we expect to keep seeing them in action.
The second spot for the most popular hero at this event goes to Tiny with 16 picks. Most Western European teams use him all the time, so we were not surprised that we saw him in action.
Finally, we have Dark Seer with 14 picks. DS has become among the hottest offlaners in the current Dota 2 meta, especially if you use him alongside specific carries.

The Most Banned Hero at BLAST Slam III
Moving on to the heroes that no one wanted to play against, the number one spot goes to Templar Assassin. It is safe to say she is among the best mid laners in the current meta, and for a good reason. That is why she was banned in 39 games.
The second spot on the list for the most banned hero at BLAST Slam 3 is for Bristleback. He is among the offlaners that you don’t want to play against, especially when paired with an aggressive support. The hero is hard to deal with, which explains why he got 36 bans.
BM is a solid mid/offlane hero that excels in lineups that focus on pushing. Following the changes in the latest Last patch, he became a lot stronger in a 1v1 situation, and it seems like players acknowledge it.
Heroes with the Highest Win Rate at BLAST Slam III
There were a lot of heroes with a 100% win rate, but the truth is that they only appeared in a couple of games tested, we’ll only mention heroes that have 10 or more matches.
Number one on the list is for Monkey King because the hero had an 80% win rate. We saw him in 10 games, and it’s safe to say he ripped through the enemy’s lineups. MK is one of those heroes you can find in many positions. His damage output and elusiveness make him a solid core, and his ability to jump on trees and gank are ideal for the position 4.
The next name on the list is Pangolier, and he appeared in 11 matches. After the end of the tournament, his win rate stood at 63.64%, which is very impressive, considering his stats from the last few events. It is safe to say he is back in the meta.
The last hero we wish to include on this list is Warlock. He only had the chance to play in 10 games, but this was enough to secure a 60% win rate. Overall, Wlock is a solid support that can do well with heroes that have a lot of AoE damage.

Heroes with the Lowest Win Rate at BLAST Slam 3
When it comes to the Dota 2 heroes with the lowest win rate, Jakiro also takes the first spot on the list. Even though the support became one of the most popular heroes at the event, he was also among the least successful. According to the stats, Jakiro’s win rate is 31.58%.
The next hero whose win rate also disappointed us is Ringmaster. That’s right, the second hero who became the most popular pick at the event is also among the worst in terms of win rate. After 19 matches, he only won 7 games, which resulted in a 36.84% win rate.
The third Dota 2 hero with the lowest win rate at this tournament is Terrorblade. Despite being one of the most popular carries in pro Dota 2, TB hasn’t been doing great lately. During the event, players picked him a total of 13 times, and he achieved a 38.46% win rate.
Unpicked Heroes
An interesting fact about BLAST Slam 3 is that the event had a lot fewer games than other Dota 2 tournaments. On top of that, the tournament only had 10 teams in total, which is way less than usual. This, combined with the fact that we had a Bo1 format, resulted in teams focusing on their best heroes.
We believe that the stats would be very different if the competition featured more teams. The same is true if some teams (such as Liquid) were not eliminated early on. We will see if the top picks and bans will be similar once DreamLeague Season 26 comes to an end.
After the end of the current competition, it became clear that a total of 49 heroes did not receive a single pick. Some are not in the meta at all, but others usually work well. The latter includes Outworld Destroyer, Winter Wyvern, Wraith King, and so on. An interesting fact is that these three heroes are some of the most successful names in pub games.
What’s Next?
After the end of BLAST Slam 3, the best Dota 2 teams in the world must prepare for the next event. An interesting fact is that the people behind this competition have already revealed details about BLAST Slam 4. This will be an amazing competition that will take place in Singapore later this year.
