PGL Astana 2025 is well underway now, with a few days of matches under our belt. While some teams are already on their way to the airport for the next flight home, others have already reached the Playoffs and get to spend the next few days preparing rather than fighting for their lives on the server. Who lives to fight another day, and who went home at PGL Astana? Read on to find out.

After three days of action, The MongolZ and Spirit are your 3:0 Group Stage teams at PGL Astana, locking down their spots at the earliest possible opportunity. It makes sense – most would have these two among any list of the best CS2 teams in the world, and certainly two of the best in attendance here.
For The MongolZ, NAVI stood in the way of them and the PGL Astana Playoffs, although they managed to dispatch the troubled team in 2:0 fashion. It was closer than it seems, though, with both maps finishing a tight 13:11 scoreline, with no particular player on The MongolZ popping off in what was a true team effort.
Meanwhile, it was business as usual for Spirit, who made very short work of HooXi’s Astralis to send themselves to the Playoffs of PGL Astana 2025. The Danes only managed to muster 12 rounds across two maps, while donk continued to do donk things for Spirit on the other side of the server.
GamerLegion and M80 sent packing

On the other side of things, GamerLegion and M80 have become the first two teams eliminated from PGL Astana 2025. Both have crashed out without a single win to their name, despite being two rather strong rosters on paper. It’s funny how things work out.
GamerLegion will perhaps be the more disappointed of the two. After recently appearing in the Playoffs of IEM Melbourne 2025, the team has taken several steps back at this event by failing to win a single series, culminating in a frankly embarrassing loss to HOTU. It’s back to the drawing board now for GamerLegion, who have laid bare their inconsistencies at PGL Astana 2025.
M80 are another surprising early elimination. Although they’re undoubtedly a slow-burning team, it really does feel like this team has been getting better over the past few months. They were totally unable to show anything positive at PGL Astana though, and they won’t want to reflect on this showing anytime soon. Perhaps the worst of it all was losing to a deeply troubled G2 side playing with coach TaZ as a stand-in. That’s got to sting.
