- eFootball 2025 has released the Epic Italian League Midfielders this May 2025.
- In a pack of 150 players, Rijkaard, Matthaus, and Donadoni are the three Epic cards.
eFootball 2025 sees another blockbuster pack arriving in the game with the Italian League Midfielders. But given how OP the European Clubs Attackers looked, I’m sure many don’t have the coins left for this pack, still, I’ll serve my side of things with the review.
Okay, three absolutely deadly picks here with Frank Rijkaard, Lothar Matthaus, and Roberto Donadoni. We’ve already got a taste of their cards, but what about this time? Let me share my analysis and the verdict on whether you need to go for these.
Following a similar pattern, we see 150 players in this pack with three Epic cards. Two of them have Show Time skills, while one is your regular Epic.
Frank Rijkaard
- Position: DMF
- Playing Style: Destroyer
- Showtime Skill: Visionary Pass
This is a card built for defensive dominance. Rijkaard‘s stats scream brick wall, and on the pitch, he fully lives up to that. Destroyer playstyle means you have a problem with having an OP CB and DMF in one player, which you can switch according to your preference.
His movement isn’t very flashy, but his positioning makes it feel like he’s everywhere, shutting down counters before they start. Guess what, he also has the numbers to begin an attack of his own, good passing numbers to build play back up. Surprisingly, he has crisp ball control for his size.

At DMF, since he has high aggression and that playstyle, he might tend to drop away from his position, so better to pair him with an Anchor Man or an Orchestrator to balance the midfield. A double pivot is suggested, although you can give him defensive and anchoring roles in the instructions.
However, leaving his DMF position aside, after checking out different builds, no doubt, he might be the best Destroyer CB in the game. Has the pace and the defending, a few missing skills like Heading can be added easily. My preference would be at CB. The rest depends on you.
Lothar Matthaus
- Position: AMF
- Playing Style: Hole Player
- Showtime Skill: Phenomenal Pass
Matthaus could play any position in the midfield, or even defense, and can be considered the best in his position. Same goes for this card, where following a more defensive B2B card, we have this Hole Player version that brings his attacking trait to life.
He feels like he never stops running, and that insane stamina stat lets you keep him on all game without worries. His dribbling and passing are his best traits. Offensively, you can find some similarities to Hole Player Lampard, since I have both the cards, but Lampard gets Blitz Curler, which I found to be the better use case offensively.

One major upgrade I noticed compared to his Captain Tusbasa Germany card is that shooting from distance is improved. He delivers some screamers thanks to the high kicking power and Long Range Drive, and Shooting skills. Speed isn’t in the 90s, so most might not like that.
Still, he gets into scoring positions like an SS thanks to the playstyle, but also drops back and tracks runners since he has Track Back built in.
Roberto Donadoni
- Position: LMF
- Playing Style: Hole Player
- Showtime Skill: None
Donadoni is that fun, flair-heavy winger you slot in when you want your left side to dance. I still use his old “no-booster” Epic winger card. He’s extremely fast, light on his feet, and plays like a smooth hybrid between a winger and a creative midfielder.

His ball control, tight possession, and dribbling combo make him a joy to use, and he can pull off some filthy skill moves when you’re feeling cheeky. He does lack the defensive and physical bite needed for an LMF and isn’t the most physical, but his speed compensates for a lot.
Hence, give him the LWF treatment, or if you are okay, playing him at AMF is a seemingly better choice. His finishing surprised me (kept it at 85), which is better than I felt. Definitely scuffs those first-time shots, so give him that skill if you rely too much on it.
Given the three picks, there’s no denying Rijkaard is an endgame pick. But my choice would be Matthaus; his player ID is among the best. Maybe my biased speaking, he’s arguably the most versatile of the trio.
Donadoni would have been one of the best cards with Momentum Dribbling. Overall, a pack you can spend coins on, if you have them.
