SYBO Games is gearing up to celebrate the 13th Anniversary of their hit arcade endless runner, Subway Surfers, with a special in-game event. On May 12, 2025, the event will introduce Copenhagen as its 200th City. You can unlock and run across a different city daily during the event.
Subway Surfers turns 13 this year, with a new city and various surprises
Subway Surfers, one of the most iconic mobile games ever, is gearing up to celebrate its 13th Anniversary this May 12, 2025. First released back on May 23, 2012, the game quickly became a global sensation, with its addictive gameplay, especially with the launch of the World-Tour series in 2013.
Now, after bringing popular cities like New York, Rio, Mumbai, Bangkok, and more, Subway Surfers is marking a big milestone, adding its 200th city, Copenhagen, for the World Tour, to celebrate its 13th Anniversary. What makes it more special is, this city is where the game began, co-developed with Kiloo.
Starting May 12, you’ll be able to run across 21 unlockable cities each day, like Paris, Los Angeles, London, Tokyo, Rio, and more. You’ll be able to unlock these beloved cities by collecting World Tour suitcase tokens in specific locations, and revisit all these existing cities along with the new Copenhagen.
Unlock two new characters, outfits, and boards in new events
Mathias Gredal Nørvig, CEO of SYBO, stated, “We’re excited to celebrate both turning 13 and visiting 200 cities in our World Tour, and are looking forward to Subway Surfers’ next chapter as we kick off its teenage years.”
One more exciting thing that also got me excited is that you can even unlock two new themed characters, Loc and Stevie, along with new outfits, boards, and various other rewards. It’s wild to think I last played this title when I was a kid, and now, while all grown, I’m still excited to experience it again.
