The new Fortnite season has replaced the entire loot pool with Star Wars blasters, and there’s no proper guns to speak of at all. However, it’s not all change. We still have some Fortnite medallions, including one with a better power than we’ve seen for a lot of Chapter 6, The new Phasma Blaster Medallion has an OP power considering the new weapons we’ve got to work with.
The new medallion is easily to find on the map. It’s the only medallion that’s on the map from the start of the game. Getting it every game can be tricky though. Right now there isn’t much of a reason to go for different drop spots most games, so the medallion is a popular place to land. There are some strategies to really cut down your time collecting it though.

How to Get the Phasma Blaster Medallion
The new Phasma Blaster Medallion is located at the First Order Base POI. You can find it on the map by the medallion symbol, which tells you exactly where the boss is. Since this is an underground POI and one of the most popular spots with the Fortnite player base, it’s a bit more complicated than walking over though.
You’ll need to actually get inside the base. You can do this through some of the entrances to the underground, or you can take the back way. Where there’s a hole cut out of the room to allow TIE fighters to leave the base. Phasma is usually in this large room.
One method players have taken to grab the Phasma Blaster Medallion as quickly and smoothly as possible is to use the TIE Fighters, like this:

- Grab a weapon
- Get in the Fighter
- Fly past the base, to find the hall’s window at the back of the mountain

- Use the TIE Fighter weapons to blast the boss without exposing yourself
- Once defeated, jump out and grab the Phasma Blaster Medallion. You can loot up the base from here, or use the TIE Fighter for a quick getaway.

What Does the Medallion Do?
The new Phasma Blaster Medallion is dropped along with a Mythic, but its power works with every weapon in the game. The new medallion has a power to extent the fire time of guns.
Since this season has moved us over into Blaster territory, there’s no more ammo. Instead, the guns will overheat after firing for too long. Essentially it functions like a reload mechanic in the game, but you can switch to a different gun once one overheats, instead of having to do the actual reloading. The medallion changes the timing up. You get more shots before you overheat, which can be a massive advantage.
One of the biggest benefits of the guns this season is you can pretty much constantly pressure. Since the new medallion lets you fire for longer, you have the advantage in these pressuring situations. That’s what made it such a popular drop spot. If you can get in first every time though, you can track down the new medallion in each game.
