Back again with another edition of my Monthly Mobile Gaming News Roundup, and April 2025 definitely kept the momentum alive from the last month. The month also packed in some exciting announcements and major updates that hinted at an even bigger summer ahead.

There’s a lot to dive into, so I’ve rounded up all the key highlights right here. Let’s get into it and see what April had in store!

Monthly Mobile Gaming News Roundup for April 2025

Week 1: April 01 to April 07

Executive Summary

In the first week of April 2025, mobile gaming news saw several launches and announcements, including Boxbound, Roar Rampage Classic, Game of Thrones: Kingsroad, Cats & Soup: Magic Recipe, Hungry Horrors, and City Life Game with Friends.

Noteworthy pre-registrations included Elysia: The Astral Fall and ATHENA: Blood Twins, while mo.co achieved a significant revenue milestone within 2 weeks. Silver and Blood began its open beta, and Doggy Fame and TownsFolk launched on mobile.

Supercell announced plans to expand into Hollywood, and Re:ZERO Witch’s re:surrection announced its shutdown. Upcoming releases include Oceanhorn: Chronos Dungeon, while Devil May Cry debuted as an anime on Netflix.

Week 2: April 08 to April 14

Executive Summary

The second week also kicked started with launches and new game announcements. Out of the Park Baseball Go 26, Bang Bang Legion, HYDE RUN, Little Corner Tea House, Crashlands 2, and Black Mirror: Thronglets saw launches while Fortress Frontlines soft-launched.

ReMemento – White Shadow and MOCHI-O were announced for a global release. Youxing Continent launched in China, and Rust Mobile began its Closed Beta Test in the region.

Pre-registrations opened for Prime Football 2025, Star Resonance, Labyrinth City, Garena Free City, METRO QUESTER, and Chasing Kaleidorider. Deus Ex Go and Hitman Sniper made a comeback on mobile platforms. Jetpack Joyride Racing kicked off the Closed Beta Test.

Week 3: April 15 to April 21

Executive Summary

Love and Deepspace reached nearly a billion in revenue within its first 15 months. Final Fantasy XIV: Crystal World and Valorant Mobile opened pre-registration in China, while Grand Outlaws soft-launched in the US.

Wittle Defender, Hello Kitty Friends Match, and Dunk City Dynasty opened pre-registration, with the latter also soft-launching in select regions. Disney Magic Match 3D soft-launched in the Philippines, and Prison Gang Wars was announced for mobile release.

Chasing Kaleidorider began its Closed Beta Test in Japan, and Rookie Tales soft-launched in India. Crowd Legends launched in Europe, and Seedsow Lullaby was confirmed for release on May 1. Grunt Rush launched globally, while Saint Seiya Galaxy Soldiers was set for a summer release in Japan.

Plants vs Zombies 3 testing began in China, and Eclipsoul launched on Android. In other news, Discord tested age verification with Face and ID scans, and Skyesports faced allegations of sexual misconduct.

Week 4: April 22 to April 28

Executive Summary

Paint Brawl: Color of War soft-launches in select regions, while Tencent SPARK 2025 highlighted big reveals. Summer Dungeon, Might and Magic Fates, Cluedo, Alphadia III, PUZZLE & DRAGONS 0, Umamusume: Pretty Derby, and Final Outpost: Definitive Edition are set for mobile releases.

Gameloft marks its 25th Anniversary with in-game giveaways. Releases include Delta Force, Deity Tomb: Profanation. Apple and Meta face $800M fines for DMA breach. Time Enforcers launches as an interactive comic book adventure and Gully Gangs: Street Cricket begins Open Beta.

Honor of Kings gets an animated adaptation as Digimon: Source Code is now out in China. Silver and Blood, RuPaul’s Drag Race Match Queen, and KAIJU NO. 8 THE GAME open pre-registration. Diamond Dreams soft-launches in Malaysia.

LISA: The Painful and LISA: The Joyful arrive on Android. Genshin Impact teams up with Charlotte Tilbury for a beauty collab. Project: Extreme is officially registered in China as Overwatch Mobile details surface.

Week 5: April 29 to April 30

Executive Summary

In the last two days of the month, there was plenty of coverage. Arknights: Endfield begins Closed Beta Test in China, while Minetris, One Fight Arena and World of Goo 2 saw releases. Flappy Bird makes a comeback on Android via Epic Games Store.

Crunchyroll kicks off Ani-May celebrations starting with Valkyrie Profile: Lenneth. Mutants: Genesis, Dragonheir: Silent Gods, and Broken Sword: Reforged prepares for a global relaunch, and Game of Thrones: Kingsroad pre-registration goes live ahead of its May 21 release.

Dragon Sword announces a Closed Beta with pre-registration from May 8, and Stella Sora kicks off its closed beta test.
