Dragon Sword Upcoming Closed Beta Test Cover

  • Dragon Sword is an open-world ARPG built using Unreal Engine 5.
  • It builds on the action combat system of Hundred Soul, another title by Hound 13.
  • The studio, formed by ex Eyedentity Games devs behind Dragon Nest, also received investments from Garena for this game.

WEBZEN has announced a Closed Beta Test (CBT) for its open-world action RPG, Dragon Sword, with pre-registration for it starting from May 8, 2025. Developed by Hound 13, the game was first revealed as Project D in 2021 and officially announced with a trailer in 2023.

Dive into the kingdom of Orbis, enjoy action-packed strategic battles and adventures

Dragon Sword, originally called Project D, is an open-world ARPG with unique action sequences, strategic battles, and endless adventures. Set in the first kingdom, Orbis, you play as Lute, journeying with a mercenary group, who eventually become the hero Dragonsword, beating the fearsome dragon.

I am excited to explore its semi-open world and experience its manual gameplay with dynamic action scenes and its unique strategic battles. Moreover, I am very happy that it won’t be an idle RPG, and also because it will offer cross-platform. You can form bonds and build a team of adorable characters.

Dragon Nest is developed using Unreal Engine 5, with a similar combat system to Hundred Soul

It looks inspired by the popular title, Genshin Impact, which is not necessarily a bad thing. It’s being built using Unreal Engine 5, so we can expect a lot from it. Moreover, Hound 13, known for Hundred Soul, is formed by devs who made the hit title, Dragon Nest, under Eyedentity Games.

The good news is that Dragon Sword is set to launch a Closed Beta Test (CBT) soon, after all these years of development. Pre-registration for the upcoming CBT will start on May 8, 2025. Stay tuned for more updates.
