The big question over this weekend in Fortnite, is there a Fortnite live event today? There’s been a lot of rumours and expectations, especially since teasers began to appear around the map. However, we haven’t gotten a countdown. It looks like there isn’t a Fortnite live event today, and instead we have over a month to wait until we get our next one!
Fortnite’s current season is wrapping up in less than a week. Normally this would be the prime time to get a live event. In fact, we’ve seen an event of mini event every single season since Chapter 5 began. However, this one looks like it’s breaking the cycle and we’ll be waiting for quite a while longer. This is what we know about why there’s no Fortnite live event, and when the next one is.

Is there a Fortnite Live Event Today?
Over the Fortnite updates we’ve seen for the last week, we’ve been getting progression on Fortnite lore for the end of the season. There’s a portal active on the map, similar to the last live event. But now a week away, and nothing has changed.
It looks like there won’t actually be a Fortnite live event today. Instead, we’ll be waiting until the end of the next season. We do still have regions to play in FNCS Major 2, but more casual players are out of luck.
No Chapter 6 Season 2 Live Event
Despite the rumours and leaks, there won’t be a Chapter 6 Season 2 live event. This does make sense in some ways. We would be going from the crime theme this season to the Star Wars Chapter 6 Season 3. Not exactly an easy jump for a storyline.
It seems we’ll simply move through with patch notes and downtime. Maybe a quest or two will have dialogue to give us some information. However, we won’t get a proper conclusion to this season’s themes. Although, a cinematic that’s been in Fortnite leaks should give us some closure for characters like Big Dill.
When is the Next Fortnite Live Event?

If there’s no Fortnite live event today, when is the next one? We’ve actually already had an announcement for when it’ll happen. It’s coming in early June, as the Star Wars season ends.
This will be a cinematic event which will move the story forward. However, it does mean we’re skipping the live event this time.
