GungHo Online Entertainment, Inc., known for Disney Pixel RPG, TEPPEN, and more, has revealed their new match 3 puzzle RPG, PUZZLE & DRAGONS 0, scheduled to launch in late May 2025 on both Android and iOS. This game is now open for pre-registration and marks the newest entry to the beloved series.
Get ready for a new adventure with familiar puzzle-based gameplay
PUZZLE & DRAGONS 0 is a full-fledged puzzle RPG and the newest entry in the popular PUZZLE & DRAGON series, which originally set the standard for the genre and became a massive hit. The core gameplay is still the same: you match 3 or more Orbs to erase them, to take down enemy creatures.
It is pretty simple, and you also get to choose to play in either portrait or landscape mode, which is great. I am genuinely excited to jump into this one, with a world full of dungeons to explore, Crystals to collect, and more.
Create creatures, raise them, and form your team around them
You can craft new creatures using ingredients found in these dungeons, strengthen them with Mana you earn during battles, and build a team around them that fits your playstyle. The newly added Root Tree system also looks intriguing, and I am eager to try it.
While some longtime fans are saying it looks a bit too similar to the original, but honestly, I believe the game holds potential, offering fun match-3 puzzles, exciting combo chains, powerful attacks, various creatures, dungeons, dual-screen layouts, new systems, and more.
PUZZLE & DRAGONS 0 is set to launch on both Android and iOS in late May 2025. You can now pre-register for the game via your respective Google Play Store or App Store. According to the App Store’s listing, the game is expected to launch on May 29, 2025, which is subject to change.
