Fortnite Reload Map Rotation is Back

Fortnite Reload map rotation is a key feature for the mode, making sure the maps are always close enough for players. While battle Royale moves from map to map and doesn’t turn back, rotation ensures Reload gets real variety. It’s been turned off for a little while but it’s coming back.

After the Fortnite Slurp Rush update, we got a brand-new map in the game. A whole island based on the Slurp POI and other features from Chapter 2. It’s had a mixed reception though. While we initially thought this would be the only map for most of April, Fortnite Reload map rotation is coming back early. We’ll be able to play the original and second maps alongside the new one. There’s been a change to how things are scheduled though.

Fortnite Reload Map Rotation is Back

Fortnite reload map rotation has been a big factor in gameplay since the second map got added. Instead of ditching the old ones like when we move through the Fortnite seasons, Reload has all of its maps available. The islands aren’t as vital to gameplay in Reload though, since there smaller the variety really adds a lot to gameplay.

With the Slurp Rush map, we’ve had a little while to get to know the new map. However, map rotation is back early. Every 20 minutes, the Fortnite Reload map changes. From the original island, to the desert inspired one, to the new map.

The map changes every 20 minutes, rather than the shorter schedule we had in the past. This means players might have to wait a bit longer to get the exact map they’re looking for. Annoying if you only want to play a single map. However, for most players this is long enough that playing a round will mean your next game is on a different map.

Lengthening the rotation times will mean you can’t wait around for your map of choice without a lot more patience. However, players can still play each of the maps! They have the same Fortnite Reload weapons too. Since we were expecting longer with a single map, then this is still an improvement.
