The Battlegrounds Mobile India Series (BGIS) 2025 Grand Finals are slated to take place from April 25 to 27 in Kolkata. With only 16 teams remaining after The Grind and the playoffs, anyone could take the trophy home. BGMI India Series 2025 (BGIS): Who Are the Favorites

Before we begin, it’s important to note that BGMI esports is very unpredictable. With a prize pool of over $370,000, making it the biggest BGMI tournament ever held. Since its relaunch in 2023, each tournament of the game has featured numerous underdogs and newer players finishing in the podium spots.
Although last year, Team XSpark won both BGIS 2024 and BMPS 2024, becoming the only team to do so to date.. Sadly, this year they didn’t qualify for the tournament to defend their throne.
Honorable Mentions for BGIS 2025: True Rippers X Just Jelly

If there is a team that we must highlight, it is none other than True Rippers X Just Jelly. The IGL of the team, Jelly, makes this team. During BGIS 2024, Jelly was a part of Godlike Esports. During that time, he helped the team qualify for the grand finals. Following that event, we saw Jelly take a break and start building his team. This was quite a risky move in the eyes of the community, as Godlike Esports is one of the most prominent esports organizations in India.
The first time fans could see this team perform was during the ESL Snapdragon Pro Series BGMI 2025. Within this event, they qualified for the LAN finals. Sadly, they couldn’t finish on the podium, but things changed leading up to BGIS 2025. During the Semi-Finals 1, the team announced its collaboration with True Rippers. They went on to finish in sixth place during this phase of the event, qualifying for the grand finals.
Only time will tell whether this bet on himself will be beneficial for Jelly.
Number 3: Team Versatile

The first team on our list is Team Versatile. Interestingly, this is one of the few teams that don’t have a sponsor or organization to play under. This team is led by its IGL, Saumya “Saumraj” Raj. Alongside him are AquaNox, Raiden & Troye. Interestingly, the 5th member of his team is none other than Rudra “Spowe” Banswani. In the eyes of many, he is currently one of the most aggressive players in BGMI Esports.
In 2023, he was awarded the MVP trophy at BMPS 2023. Since then, Spower has made switches to multiple teams. Going from iQOO Soul at the start of 2024, then going to Carnival Gaming, and then to MOGO Esports.
After leaving MOGO Esports, he joined Team Versatile and has been a part of the team for over 5 months. During the previously mentioned ESL Snapdragon Pro Series Season 6: BGMI, Team Versatile finished in 3rd place.
During the tournament, they secured a total of 204 finish points. This was the 2nd highest during the Challenge season tournament and the Grand Finals, securing 65 placement points, which was the highest by any team. Alongside True Rippers, Team Versatile secured its qualification to the grand finals during Semi-Finals 1. The team has also added Sheek to their lineup. Making her the first female professional player to participate in a BGIS tournament.
Even though the team isn’t backed financially, the expectation from the team is one of the highest at the event. This is proof of the team’s skill and firepower.
Number 2: iQOO Soul

Deciding on the top 2 teams to finish this list is quite a tough choice. This is because both teams possess a particular trait that sets them apart. But our second team to watch out for during this tournament is none other than iQOO Soul. They are owned by S8ul Esports, one of the teams participating in the partner program of the upcoming Esports World Cup. They are one of the most decorated Esports Organizations in Indian Esports.
Last year was a tumultuous year for the organization. They finished in the top 4 during BGIS 2024 but then failed to qualify for BMPS 2024. During 2024, they went on to win the BGMI Master Series, ending the year with a trophy in their name. During the ESL Snapdragon Pro Series Season 6: BGMI, the team didn’t perform up to expectations, finishing in 7th place.
This year, their journey during BGIS 2025 was also one of multiple hurdles. They qualified by finishing in 6th place in the second phase of the semi-finals of the tournament. The team secured this spot after securing a Chicken Dinner in the last round.
The one factor in favor of this team is their experience in a BGMI LAN. This is the same core group of players who won BMPS 2023 while part of Blind Esports.
Although they will be playing on a new device, this team has demonstrated in the past that it can handle the LAN pressure and atmosphere. Only time will tell if iQOO Soul will add the 4th star to their jersey or not after BGIS 2025 concludes.
Number 1: Hero Extreme Godlike Esports

The team to watch out for during BGIS 2025 is none other than Hero Extreme Godlike Esports. This team has been on quite a steady run of form. While they haven’t won any tournaments between 2024 and 2025, they have been one of the most consistent teams in BGMI Esports on Lan. During BMPS 2024, they qualified for the first time for an official BGMI tournament.
During this event, they finished in 3rd place. They continued this study run of form by finishing 6th during Red Bull M.E.O. 2024 – India.
During ESL Snapdragon Pro Series Season 6: BGMI, they also finished in 5th place. During BGIS 2025, they have been one of the best teams to watch as well. They finished in 2nd place during Semi-Finals 1, securing a spot in the LAN.
The one factor that this team has going for it is the clutch mentality of its players. They have the likes of Admino, Simp, and the “Universal MVP” Jonathan Gaming. It wouldn’t be an understatement to say that a significant chunk of the fans during the tournament will consist of iQOO Soul and Godlike Esports fans.
This is the first time that both the most prominent esports organizations in India will be a part of an event hosted by Krafton India. Due to this, many fans believe that this event could be the largest BGMI tournament ever hosted.
It is worth noting that Krafton India will soon announce the remaining roadmap for BGMI Esports in 2025. Only time will tell which team will be announced the Champion of BGIS 2025 and what the future of BGMI Esports holds.
