To help push the game, 7QUARK turned to the community for support through a Kickstarter campaign in November 2024. The response was overwhelming, with the campaign raising over HK$600,000 (77,000+ USD) – well beyond their original goal, which makes it one of the most anticipated action JRPG games of 2025. This extra funding helped add new features in Yasha: Legends of the Demon Blade, like the Boss Rush mode, which will be available as a free update after the initial release date.

  • Each run lets you collect Soul Orbs to boost your weapons and abilities, but all progress resets upon death. However, permanent upgrades between runs ensure gradual growth.
  • Stages are procedurally generated, with randomized enemies, shops, and town hubs.
  • Clear all enemies to move forward, grab a Soul Orb, and visit the Neko Shrine for random buffs like food or special amulets.
  • Town hubs, found after boss fights, offer recovery, item shops, and hidden challenges. Shops change each visit-sometimes offering buffs, other times upgrades with side effects.
  • Exploration is rewarded with hidden high-difficulty stages, secret areas, and events like the Demon Festival, where players can form alliances with friendly yokai for extra rewards.

Players can choose between three unique playable characters: Shigure, Sara, and Taketora.

Playable characters in Yasha: LotDB

  • Shigure: An immortal ninja seeking to uncover the mystery of her master’s disappearance.
  • Sara: An Oni Emissary aiming to improve her work performance by finding the prophesied Okami.
  • Taketora: A Demon Samurai fighting to protect his lord and break a cycle of demonic spells.

Each character offers different playstyles and progression paths.
