- eFootball 2025 brings the Epic National Guardians pack featuring Nesta, Caceres, and Lloris.
eFootball 2025 rolls out another defensive special with the Epic National Guardians pack, and this time the spotlight’s on three international footballing stars: Alessandro Nesta, Martin Caceres, and Hugo Lloris.
While attacking cards have flooded the game, this is a good refresh. But again, the question of whether these three picks offer enough value in-game is present, so here I am presenting on how the defensive lineup performs and whether they’re worth the hype in this pack review.
150 players in a pack pattern continues, with three Epic cards in each. Two of them have Show Time skills, while one is your regular Epic.
Alessandro Nesta
- Position: CB
- Playing Style: Destroyer
- Showtime Skill: Aerial Fort
I didn’t have a Nesta card before, so I tried getting it thanks to the 850 free coins I received, but I blew them on nothing but 4-Star cards. Still, I was able to play with this card with the multiple accounts my friends have, and the first impression was, he was everywhere.

Nesta slots in as a classic destroyer, and for those who love old-school defending, this card brings back that no-nonsense style. He just reads the game and shuts things down calmly. He has solid speed and acceleration numbers, so if he is caught out of position, he can still catch back.
Now, I was a little sceptical about his heading, but that Aerial Fort skill is pretty solid. He almost wins 8/10 headers, I still prefer someone tall like Van Dijk alongside him. Still go with a 12-10 split between Aerial and Defending will allocating progression points.
Martin Caceres
- Position: LB
- Playing Style: Offensive Fullback
- Showtime Skill: Fortress
Caceres might surprise a lot of people in this pack. Despite being tagged as an offensive wingback, I was building him across multiple defensive positions, and boy, doesn’t he scream “play him as a CB” vibes.

The reason why I said this was that he goes to a whopping 107 at CB with the right build. Of course, the overall stat screen won’t reflect this, but in-game, he will play like one. Hence, his utility factor is impressive, you can use him as a CB, full-back, or even a wide centre-back in a three-man defence.
So if you pulled him, go with a 4-10-10-13 build, pushes his Speed till the 90s if you give him the Duelling booster, and over a solid CB card. He retains those base LB numbers, so basically, you are getting a ball-playing CB who is decent on the ball and solid in defense.
Hugo Lloris
- Position: GK
- Playing Style: Offensive Goalkeeper
- Showtime Skill: None
Lloris finally gets an Epic card, and honestly, I can’t complain. They’ve made his stats look pretty solid. Given I’ve tried his base cards, he reacts quickly to close-range shots and handles long shots decently as well.

Preferably, a 9-9-10 build felt good to me, he covers every aspect needed for a GK. He has a good Low Pass in him, and surprisingly, he gets every skill there is for a GK. He may not have that standout name like Cech, Peter, or Buffon, for instance, but he’s the kind of goalkeeper you can trust.
I know most won’t prefer this pack because it doesn’t have flashy names apart from Nesta, but if you need a backline, you surely don’t want to miss. Caceres has numbers like a mini-Thuram card, so surely I would suggest this card out of the three.
