We’re nearing the end of the season which means a lot of players are grinding to get through to the end of the Battle Pass, but you might login to see a Fortnite level reset. A problem where players boot in, but find all their progress has been seemingly erased! A worrying bug, but it seems that’s already been addressed. And there’s a simple fix for players.
Fortnite Level Reset Bug
If you’re joining the game to finish things up and unlock everything before C6 S2 ends in Fortnite, this bug would be particularly frustrating. However, it seems it is just a bug. Nobody’s level has actually been reset!

On the official channel to update players on Fortnite bugs, Epic has described a solution they’ve rolled out to the bug. Specifying that this is just a visual bug. So, while some player’s levels were displaying the wrong data, there wasn’t any actual progress lost.
What’s more, it has been fixed. Players should find the Fortnite level reset has resolved itself. Although, if you’re still seeing the wrong level, they’ve said it’s time to restart your game. If you were in a particularly long grinding session, your progress will have still counted. You’ll just need to go through a little reset to get it to show up properly in the game. There’s an update due a few hours after the fix too, so there should be a hard reset for everyone coming.
Why Did My Level Reset in Fortnite?
The Fortnite level reset does seem to have been fixed! But why did it happen in the first place? No reason has been given, beyond it being a visual bug. The game was displaying reset levels when it wasn’t really happening. As a bug, the solution could really be anything going wrong in the game. Since progress has been saved and carried over though, it should be simple to fix for everyone.
With just a couple of weeks left before the season ends, players will need all the XP they can get. The best Fortnite XP maps are a great start if you’re looking to max out Creative XP as you try and unlock the final items in the Bonus Rewards.
