ALGS 2025 Open

In Apex Legends esports, it’s the opens that command the most attention in the early stage of the Global Series. We’re approaching the Midseason Playoffs now, a middle of the year grand final. However, qualification to that event comes through the ALGS 2025 Open. Where teams will be competing offline to find the current best squads.

The tournament has 160 teams starting things out. With so many squads, there’s quite a journey to go from qualifying to winning. It begins with a Bracket Stage. There’s 3 Winners Rounds, where the top 10 teams move on each time and the bottom ones drop to eliminations rounds. By the end, the top 10 teams from the Winners Finals go straight to the Grand Finals. In the Elimination Rounds, play is very similar. Still in groups, with the top 10 moving on and the bottom dropping out of the tournament.

After a lengthy bracket stage, we finally get to the Finals. Here, there’s 20 teams competing in a Match Point system. They’ll play rounds in succession until a team gets 50 points and a 1st place finish. They’ll then be the winner. With the other team’s placement being decided by placement and kills in the remaining games. Only the top 5 teams from the ALGS Open will move forward to the Midseason Playoffs.

Who’s Competing?

That’s how the ALGS Open 2025 is going to work, but who is competing? The Open is going to be ran for teams in the Americas, EMEA, APAC North, and APAC South regions. Out of 160, there’s obviously quite a selection of teams taking part. However, there’s some big hitters worth keeping an eye on too, especially if you’re looking at ALGS betting for the Open.

Quite a few players might have an eye on GoNext Esports. After they won the 2024 ALGS Global Championship. However, they’ve lost their roster and coach since, with a new roster now competing. Their new squad is still exciting, but keep in mind it’s not the same team who won last season. There are other major teams to watch at the event too, out of 160 though we’ll have to see how the early rounds play out and who is standing out.
