Best Anime On Disney Plus

Jujutsu Kaisen (2020)
Follow the ever-adorable Yuji Itadori as he finds himself in the middle of a secret society and a new student at Jujutsu High. After a turn of events, this exceptional young man becomes the vessel for one of the strongest sorcerers ever to exist. Alongside Yuji, there’s a ridiculous cast of hilarious characters, all stopping curses from wreaking havoc in the world around them.
It’s a dangerous job, but someone has to do it. This popular series is full of laughs and lessons learned, on top of great animation, voice over work, and a plot that will keep you intrigued throughout the show.
My Hero Academia (2016)
If you’re an anime and superhero fan, it doesn’t get better than My Hero Academia. Its world is filled with characters who have superpowers called Quirks. These Quirks can be anything from super-strength to shooting lasers from your navel (yes, really).

These characters from MHA may not have strong quirks but that doesn’t mean they lack power.
But what if you’re the one kid without a Quirk? Well, that’s Izuku Midoriya, our protagonist. Izuku may be Quirkless, but he’s full of heart and dreams of becoming a hero, just like his idol, All Might, the world’s greatest hero. When Izuku encounters the seemingly invincible All Might, a chance encounter changes his destiny. All Might recognizes Izuku’s potential and takes him on as his successor, passing on his super-powerful Quirk, One for All. Izuku then enrolls in U.A. High, a prestigious school for aspiring heroes, and begins training alongside a bunch of other colorful characters with amazing Quirks.
Sword Art Online (2012)
For fans of action, or lovers of video games, Sword Art Online is a can’t-miss anime. The series is split into several seasons, which can get a bit confusing, as they hop settings more than a couple of times. Sword Art Online, Alfheim, Alternative – there are plenty of things to keep straight, but it all boils down to the same thing: Cutting down enemies in a hellish video game.
Trapped inside the new virtual game Sword Art Online by their Nerve Gear headsets, the cast of the game are forced to clear the game if they want to be released. If you die in the game, your Nerve Gear kills you in real life, so it’s a high-stakes race to the top as the community of the game bands together to try to get the game cleared. We follow Kirito and the allies he makes along his journey in the quest to clear this game and handle all the challenges that come along.
Demon Slayer (2019)
In the mood for something a bit darker with stunning visuals? Then Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba might be the anime for you. Imagine Taisho-era Japan, but with flesh-eating demons lurking in the shadows. Tanjiro, our main character, is a kind-hearted charcoal seller who returns home one day to find his family slaughtered by a demon. The only survivor is his younger sister, Nezuko, who – plot twist – has become a demon herself.
But there’s hope. Nezuko retains some humanity, and Tanjiro vows to find a cure for her while becoming a demon slayer to avenge his family and protect his sister. Demon Slayer is a rollercoaster ride of emotions. It’s got intense battles with wild and creepy demons but also beautiful moments of family bonds and the will to fight for what you love.
Bleach (2004)
Bleach is another fantastic anime you can find on Disney Plus, and it comes with a whole new twist on the afterlife. Ichigo Kurosaki isn’t your average teenager. He can see ghosts, and his life gets turned upside down when he encounters Rukia, a Soul Reaper – basically a death god warrior chick. A battle with a monstrous spirit leaves Rukia injured, and Ichigo ends up inheriting her Soul Reaper powers.
That leaves Ichigo with a new mission: protect humans from evil spirits called Hollows and guide departing souls to the Soul Society, the afterlife realm, and you can watch them do it on Disney Plus.
Attack on Titan (2013)
In Attack on Titan, humanity huddles behind enormous walls for protection from nightmarish creatures called Titans – giant, grotesque humanoids with a hankering for hurting people. Eren Yeager, our protagonist, lives a pretty normal life. That is until the day a Titan breaches the wall, throwing his world into chaos.

Eren watches in horror as his mom gets devoured by one of these giant freaks. Fueled by rage and a burning desire for revenge, Eren dedicates his life to wiping Titans off the face of the Earth. Attack on Titan isn’t your typical hero story, but it’s dark, suspenseful, and can be considered one of the best anime of all time.
Spy × Family (2022)
Disney Plus is serving up some hilarious family fun via Spy x Family. This fun-filled anime is like James Bond meets parenthood, with a dash of X-Men thrown in for good measure, and it also made it onto our list of the best slice-of-life anime. Twilight, the world’s greatest spy for Westalis, needs to build a fake family to get close to a politician. He adopts Anya, a sweet (but secretly telepathic) little girl from an orphanage, and marries Yor, a seemingly normal city hall worker who’s actually a deadly assassin by night. The twist is none of them know each other’s secret identities!
Spy x Family is a laugh-out-loud comedy as Twilight wrangles his new family, Anya tries to use her mind-reading to ace school (with chaotic results), and Yor worries about being a good mom while dodging assassination missions. It’s heartwarming, action-packed, and full of quirky characters you’ll love.
Fruits Basket (2019)
Fruits Basket on Disney Plus is a shoujo anime that’ll take you on a real feels trip. It’s got romance, drama, and a supernatural twist that’ll keep you hooked. Tohru Honda, an orphaned high school girl, ends up living with the mysterious Sohma family after a strange tent landslide, and despite the similarities so far, it’s very different from Spy x Family.
The Somas have a big secret, though. When they get stressed or hugged by the opposite sex, they transform into the animals of the Chinese zodiac. We’ve all been there, right? Tohru finds herself tangled up in the Somas’ wacky antics and emotional baggage while Kyo, the hot-headed Sohma who turns into a cat, is constantly at odds with Yuki, the cool and collected Sohma who turns into a rat. As Tohru brings her warmth and kindness to the Sohmas, she helps them confront their past traumas and learn to break the curse that binds them.
Black Clover (2017)
If you loved My Hero Academia’s underdog story, then Black Clover on Disney Plus is another must-watch. In a world where everyone has magic, Asta, our hero, is the odd one out. Born with zero magic, Asta dreams of becoming the Wizard King, the most powerful mage in the land. People laugh at him, but Asta never gives up. He trains incredibly hard, vowing to prove his worth through sheer grit.
Things change when Asta receives a five-leaf grimoire. A grimoire so rare it rejects most mages. With his newfound anti-magic abilities and a never-say-die attitude, Asta joins the Black Bulls, a squad of magic knights known for being a little unconventional. But hey, they’re the perfect underdog team for our determined Asta.
Tokyo Revengers (2021)
Feeling stuck in a dead-end job and looking for a show that will remind you of the good old days? Tokyo Revengers on Disney Plus will take you there via a wild time-traveling trip loaded with middle-school angst. Takemichi Hanagaki is a down-on-his-luck 26-year-old who discovers his ex-girlfriend Hinata died in a gang dispute. Devastated, he’s inexplicably sent back in time 12 years to his middle school days. This is his chance to rewrite the future and save Hinata.
However, middle school Takemichi wasn’t exactly a tough guy. He was kind of a scaredy-cat actually, tangled up with a notorious biker gang called the Tokyo Manji Gang. Now, with his future knowledge, Takemichi vows to climb the ranks of the Tokyo Manji Gang, not to become a bully, but to protect Hinata and his friends from the inside. It’s a dangerous gamble, filled with gang fights, broken promises, and powerful leaders who won’t hesitate to crush anyone in their way.
