Solo Leveling Season 2 Finale Introduces A Hunter Even Stronger Than Sung Jinwoo

There’s a hunter stronger than Sung Jinwoo. He was shown in the last episode of season 2 of Solo Leveling.

The most exciting part of the series is definitely whenever Jinwoo extracts a new shadow. However, the anime decided to remove one of his recent shadow extractions, for one reason or another.

Solo Leveling Season 2 Cut Out One Of Jinwoo’s Strongest Shadows

Sung Jinwoo, the protagonist of the Solo Leveling story, is very powerful. While he’s extremely strong on his own, his title as Shadow Monarch grants him a power that truly puts him in a whole different league. His power is to extract shadows and make them rise and fight by his side.

Jinwoo unlocked this power back in the first season of Solo Leveling, where he used it to summon his very first powerful shadow — Igris. He then went on to acquire quite a few powerful ones, such as Tusk, Tank, Iron, and most recently, in the finale of season 2, he ended up acquiring the Ant King, whom he named Beru.

Beru is quite powerful, and so far, his most powerful shadow. He is of the General rank, the highest rank so far among his shadows, which even gives him the ability to speak.

Unbeknownst to anime-only watchers, however, there was another shadow he extracted on Jeju Island that would also have been of General rank. That shadow is none other than that of the Ant Queen.

The Ant Queen got overshadowed by the Ant King in power, but she is quite powerful on her own, as it took all the other Korean S-Rank Hunters to take her down.

In the Manhwa, Sung Jinwoo also goes to her and extracts her shadow. However, he ends up releasing her not too long after, as her authority clashed with his when it came to controlling the ant soldiers. It was also because she lacked combat prowess equal to the Ant King, as her main ability was her reproduction, which is impossible to use when turned into a shadow.

Why Did the Anime Cut Out the Ant Queen Shadow?

Probably Because Jinwoo Ended up Releasing Her

Some fans might be wondering why the anime made the decision to remove the Ant Queen as one of Jinwoo’s shadows. After all, to them, it makes no sense as it why Jinwoo didn’t try to extract a powerful shadow. The answer is simple, the people making the anime probably didn’t see a reason to bother, as he releases her soon after.
