There are all kinds of keys to find in Atomfall that unlock specific doors, in many cases leading you to valuable loot, leads, and more. When you come across Atomfall‘s Protocol Workshop in the Skethermoor map area, you’ll likely stumble across a locked area called the B.A.R.D. Safe Room. However, the access key seems to be nowhere in sight.

Atomfall has all kinds of control rooms, and the key to this one is pretty well hidden. Here’s how to find it.
If you’re curious to know what’s inside or want to open every locked door in the game, you’ll probably be eager to track down the B.A.R.D. Safe Room Key location in Atomfall. Fortunately, you don’t need to travel far to find the B.A.R.D. Saferoom Key, which you can use to get hold of some valuable loot, findings, and other goodies.
B.A.R.D. Safe Room Key Location in Atomfall
To find the B.A.R.D. Safe Room in Atomfall, head to the Protocol Workshop in Skethermoor at points 38.0E, 77.4N on the map via the metal hatch entrance. Once inside the Protocol Workshop, head right through the doorway ahead and continue straight until you find the locked orange double-doors with the red light with ‘B.A.R.D.’ printed on the walls and a card reader door lock, which requires the B.A.R.D Room Safe Key to open it.
When approaching the B.A.R.D. Safe Room door, watch out for the Protocol Soldier sitting in the corner, who you’ll need to take out. It’s worth noting that there’s another patrolling Protocol Soldier nearby to look out for, plus a group of enemies in the nearby room.
To find the B.A.R.D. Room Safe Key, turn around to face the corridor behind you, where you can find a small hole in the wall that you can climb through, as pictured above. Climb up through the gap and continue forward, squeezing through the gap between the green tunnels, which takes you to the B.A.R.D. Room Safe Key location.
It can be found on the table with the lamp next to a small stash of loot, including a Glass Tumbler, Pistol Ammo, and Alcohol, as shown in the video above.
B.A.R.D. Safe Room Loot in Atomfall
Once you’ve grabbed the B.A.R.D. Safe Room Key, you can return to the orange doors, where you can use it to unlock the Safe Room. Inside, you can find two B.A.R.D. Crates to open, the “Contingency Operation” finding on the table, plus various other goodies to loot around the room, as listed below and also shown in the video above:

- Shotgun Ammo
- x3 Training Stimulants (two in the crates and another on the table)
- Radiation Resistance
- x2 Pistol Ammo
- SMG Ammo
- Burn Salve
- x2 Water
- First Aid Kit
- A Bandage
- Chemicals
- Paper Roll
- Rifle Ammo
The Protocol Workshop in Skethermoor is also where you can find the location of the Windfall Keycard, which you’ll need to unlock Windfall’s Crate inside the Protocol Field Bunker, so it’s worth grabbing it at this point if you haven’t already to save a return trip later.
You can grab the key from the corpse and the “Windfall’s Discovery Dies With Me” lead by climbing through the gap in the wall behind the table inside B.A.R.D. Safe Room once it’s unlocked. There’s also the “Windfall is All That’s Left of Me” finding to grab from on top of the barrel nearby.
