There are plenty of weapons to choose from in Once Human, though not all of them fall under the traditional category of small arms that many players are used to. The game’s arsenal includes a variety of explosives and specialized weapons like rocket launchers and flamethrowers.
The Wildfire Flamethrower serves as a complementary weapon to the players’ usual builds in Once Human. It doesn’t work like the rest of the weapons in the game though, and if you want to get one, here’s what you need to do.
How to Craft the Flamethrower in Once Human
The Wildfire Flamethrower is an endgame tactical item, and players can unlock the blueprints for it by purchasing the Ultimate Firepower Memetic Node under the Crafting tree. It’s a Tier 5 Memetic Node, which means you’ll need a lot of Ciphers and Energy Links, plus you need to wait for a bit if your server hasn’t reached the right phase yet.
To craft a Wildfire Flamethrower, you need the following endgame materials:
- 25 Barreled Premium Fuel
- 30 Special Plastic
- 40 Stardust Ingot
- 30 Automatic Parts
- 60 Stardust Source
You can get most of these materials just by scavenging POIs and scrapping the junk you find. As for Barreled Premium Fuel, you need to refine Portable Mixed Fuel at a Refining Facility or use Blackfell Extraction Permits in Extraction Zones.
The Wildfire Flamethrower can only be crafted at a Large Synthesis Bench.
Stardust Ingots
Players will likely have the most trouble getting the 40 Stardust Ingots needed to make a flamethrower in Once Human. For starters, you’ll first need to unlock the Stardust Ingot Memetic Node in the Infrastructure tab, and it also happens to be a T5 node like Ultimate Firepower.
Next, you’ll need 60 Stardust Ore and 15 Stardust Source to craft a single ingot, and if you don’t know how to get either of those, we have a guide on how to get Stardust Ore here.
Stardust Ore is mined from Startrace Ores, large, colorful crystals that rarely appear in polluted zones. You’ll need a Tungsten Pickaxe, Electric Drill, or any equivalent mining tool to harvest them.
Is The Flamethrower Worth Getting?
The Wildfire Flamethrower is fun to use, but it burns through fuel very quickly, its damage output pales in comparison to regular weapons, and perhaps worst of all, it is disposable and meant to be discarded when it runs out of fuel. The 40 Stardust Ingot crafting cost makes this a very expensive weapon to make, and it’s not even that good compared to other options.
Still, if you enjoy spraying napalm at monsters, or if you want to surprise other players with a stream of fire to the face, then this is going to be a worthwhile item to craft. Otherwise, steer clear of this if you want something that’s practical.
