Diablo 4 Reveals Roadmap for Updates Coming in 2025 and Beyond

Diablo 4 has shared the 2025 roadmap with the features and content to be added in the coming months. Diablo 4 hit the shelves in 2023, and since then, Blizzard has released seven seasons, along with the anticipated first expansion.

The first season of Diablo 4 ran from July 20 to October 1, 2023, and made additions like the Malignant Monsters, the Malignant Heart item, and the boss Varshan the Consumed. The most recent season began on January 21, 2025, bringing the witchcraft powers to Diablo 4, new runes and whispers, and the Armory, a feature highly requested by Diablo 4 players that optimizes build management. In October 2024, the game received its first expansion, Vessel of Hatred, which added the new Spiritborn class and took players to the jungle of Nahantu. Giving a preview of what’s to come, Blizzard made an exciting announcement.

Diablo 4 revealed the 2025 roadmap, listing the seasonal content and permanent additions coming to the game. Kicking off in April and ending in July, Season 8 will see Belial’s return to Diablo 4, the release of an IP collaboration, and a celebration of the game’s second anniversary. The roadmap lists Season 10 starting in September and ending in December, bringing another collab, new chaos powers, and an update for the Infernal Hordes.

Along with the overview of the upcoming seasons, Blizzard confirmed that Diablo 4‘s second expansion will be released in 2026, although no exact date has been set yet. The game will get a new ranking system, with the roadmap teasing that even more changes will come next year. Some permanent additions that Diablo 4 players can look forward to are the Season Journey update and new lair bosses (Season 8), new Nightmare Dungeons activities (Season 9), and undisclosed changes for the tenth season. The list also mentions the Armory and the Whispers quality-of-life update, released in Season 7.

While players wait for Season 8, the most recent Diablo 4 patch dropped in March. The update wasn’t very extensive, but it did fix season-related bugs and general errors, and made performance improvements. The update also included new settings that players can activate to improve the game’s graphics.
