Even in his Tailed Beast form, Orochimaru was able to toy with Naruto and show just how much power he wielded. Barring a Tailed Beast Bomb that could’ve killed the villain, Orochimaru displayed the gulf in their strength and made it clear why Sasuke chose him as his sensei.

However, he was still caught off-guard by Yahiko’s body, placing him on the brink of defeat until Hinata came to save the love of her life. This caused Naruto to lose it as he was overwhelmed by stress, and he would’ve allowed Kurama to run rampant had it not been for a clever safeguard implemented by his father, the Fourth Hokage.

His answers satisfied Itachi, who implanted a crow in Naruto that would help him break the Edo Tensei technique. Itachi was thinking miles ahead and used Naruto as a tool to eventually save him from the control of Edo Tensei, showing that he was already accounting for his demise courtesy of an illness that was wracking his body.

However, Naruto got the last laugh by attaining victory in their rematch and convincing Sasuke to come back to the village.
