Respawn Entertainment has rolled out a new update for Apex Legends, making notable changes to Legends and weapons. Apex Legends recently had its mid-season update for Season 24 on March 25, and the developer looks to keep the balance changes coming with this latest update.

The last few seasons of Apex Legends have featured significant changes to the battle royale experience. While a new Legends has not been added since Alter in Season 21, Respawn has made sweeping changes to various classes in the game. Most recently, the mid-season update for Season 24 of Apex Legends overhauled Skirmishers, providing them with some new perks to allow them to be more effective while playing highly mobile roles. Now, Respawn has revealed its latest round of balance changes.

As part of a new April update, Mirage, Ash, Seer, and Conduit have received tweaks to their abilities. Specifically, it now takes players longer to travel the maximum distance using Ash’s Phase Breach, increasing to 2.5 seconds instead of 1.4 seconds. Her minimum distance travel time with the Ultimate has also increased from 0.3 seconds to 0.5 seconds. As a result of this change, Ash players will take slightly longer to traverse the map using the Ultimate, giving other teams potentially more time to react.

While Ash received a slight nerf, Mirage gained a notable buff this time. Thanks to this patch, he deploys six decoys instead of five when using his Ultimate. In addition, Conduit’s Tactical ability received an increase in health regen, with players gaining three instead of four shields per tick. Finally, Seer’s Tactical now takes 0.8 seconds instead of 1.4 seconds to hit targets, and his ability completes slightly faster, decreasing from 1.0 seconds to 0.9 seconds.

Beyond these Legend changes, Respawn has balanced some of the weapons in Apex Legends. Among the changes, the Hemlock received some buffs, with headshot damage increased by two and the magazine size increased by three for everything below the purple attachment. SMGs also got some attention, increasing headshot damage by one. While some guns were buffed, a few were nerfed by the developer. Specifically, the P2020 had its damage decreased from 25 to 24, and the L-Star now has more substantial recoil and reduced projectile size. Along with these nerfs, the Accelerated Weapons now have lower Ultimate gains, decreased from 30% to 20%.

It will be interesting to see how these changes impact the meta in Apex Legends moving forward. While the update does not contain massive changes compared to the mid-season update, it should help address some player complaints. However, time will tell if they have the desired effect on the battle royale experience in Apex Legends.
