Zenless Zone Zero Season 2 Reveals Major Content and Massive Gameplay Changes

In the latest Dev Talk, Zenless Zone Zero reveals its plans for Version 2.0 of the game, revealing major gameplay adjustments and changes, while teasing plenty of new content. While the game is currently in Version 1.6, fans have been eagerly anticipating the future of Zenless Zone Zero, with both the confirmed Agents coming in the 1.7 update, as well as a possible launch anniversary celebration later in July.

Regardless, it has already been a big week for players as HoYoverse confirmed that Zenless Zone Zero is finally heading to Xbox and announced a special livestream event arriving on April 11. The initial reveal also teased some “exciting new updates” which have left fans wondering if more details about Update 1.7 could be included. Surprisingly, HoYoverse released new information regarding Version 2, which promises to be a game-changer for the popular live-service action game.

Zenless Zone Zero Leak Teases New Anniversary Skins

Recent leaks from Zenless Zone Zero are hinting at several new skins set to arrive to the game as part of its first anniversary in July.

In a lengthy new video called Dev Talk, Zenless Zone Zero game designer “y” revealed tons of new information for Season 2, including sweeping game design changes and content. In terms of the game’s story, the next phase of Sarah’s plan will be revealed as players will be heading to a new area of the world called Waifei Peninsula. New story beats will pick up threads left from previous versions, including finally getting the truth about the fall of the old capital as well as the secrets surrounding the Zenless Zone Zero protagonists.

Zenless Zone Zero Season 2 Gameplay Changes

During the video, “y” also spent plenty of time revealing major changes coming to the game, including new explorable zones like Failume Heights, Areospace City, and the Lemnian Hollow. In fact, players will have plenty to do in these locations, like Suibian Temple, which gives players a new opportunity to manage a location, restoring it over time.

The Zenless Zone Zero map is also being overhauled, with Failume Heights being a larger space and designed for future expansion. The travel system will now utilize a map rather than the current slide card method, loading screens will be reduced or removed entirely, and HoYoverse is working on further improvements to Quality Time hangouts with Agents. New game modes and events were also teased, and combat is also seeing plenty of quality of life changes.

In terms of Agents, “y” did confirm Yixuan would be a central character in Season 2, who leads the Yunkui Summit group which the proxies end up joining. Obol Squad will also be a prominent faction, and the heavily teased Angels of Delusion will finally arrive in Zenless Zone Zero. Fans looking for more information won’t have to wait long as a Season 2 teaser trailer is being prepped for release on April 13.
