Players can get affected by a variety of negative status ailments in Monster Hunter Wilds. These usually harm or hamper players one way or another, but some, like Bubbleblight, can be a good thing to have, as long as hunters know what to do once they get hit by it.

Bubbleblight is a status effect that’s unique to the Mizutsune in MH Wilds. Normally, players will want to avoid getting struck with Bubbleblight, but much like the Frenzy effect, this one can be used to one’s advantage. Here’s exactly what it does and what you need to do once you get hit by it.

Whiteflame Torrent is a neat weapon skill in Monster Hunter Wilds, but there are a few important things players need to know about it.

How Bubbleblight Works in MH Wilds

Bubbleblight is an extremely detrimental ailment that causes hunters to stagger and slip when dodging, slowing their movements drastically while opening them up to further damage. Additionally, hunters affected by Bubbleblight will also take more damage when blown away by strong attacks.

However, much like the aforementioned Frenzy status, Bubbleblight has two phases:

  • Getting hit by a Mizutsune bubble inflicts Minor Bubbleblight. In this state, players will benefit from increased dodging capabilities.
  • Getting hit by more Mizutsune bubbles while already afflicted with Minor Bubbleblight will turn that status into Major Bubbleblight, in which case players will experience the drawbacks stated above.

With that said, when fighting a Mizutsune, getting hit by a bubble once isn’t necessarily a bad thing. However, once Minor Bubbleblight turns into Major Bubbleblight, things will get dicey because of the evasion debuff.

Minor Bubbleblight is represented by an icon with two bubbles. Meanwhile, Major Bubbleblight features the same icon but with three bubbles.

How to Cure Bubbleblight

Bubbleblight in MH Wilds can be cured by using a Cleanser. You should get a couple of them as supplies when fighting a Mizutsune, but if not, you can make some using Godbug Essence and Fire Herbs. If you don’t have a Cleanser, you’ll need to wait 30 seconds for the ailment to disappear naturally.

Getting hit by attacks that send you flying will also get rid of Bubbleblight. However, such attacks will hurt significantly more, and if you’re fighting a Tempered monster or stronger, such attacks will likely send you back to base on a cart.

Mizutsune’s Prowess Set Bonus

MH Wilds Mizutsune Prowess description

Mizutsune’s Prowess is the bonus effect provided by wearing two or four pieces of the Mizutsune armor set. It completely prevents Major Bubbleblight, and if you have Minor Bubbleblight, you get further bonuses to your evasive capabalities.

It’s similar to the Gore Magala set in the sense that it infects players with a status ailment, but in this case, it’s Minor Bubbleblight. Players wearing four pieces of the Mizutsune armor will find themselves affected by Minor Bubbleblight after dodging three times.
