Mosquito Clan Forfeits Against OG After Parker Falls Asleep

Not being able to play a Dota 2 match because your player fell asleep is not a good way to go out, but that’s what happened to Mosquito Clan’s recent match in FISSURE Special, where the team had David “Parker” Nicho Flores play as stand-in.

According to Mosquito Clan and the tournament organizers, FISSURE, Parker allegedly fell asleep between the draft and game starting, forcing the team to forfeit the match against OG. They then couldn’t find a replacement, and had to FF the entire series.

Mosquito Clan Forfeits Match at FISSURE Special After Parker Allegedly Falls Asleep

On the third day of FISSURE Special tournament, Mosquito Clan has a best-of-two match against OG. They had Parker stand-in for their hard carry Dota 2 player, Yheremi “payk” Arroyo.

According to Mosquito Clan, Parker had fallen asleep during the draft in Game 1. Note that the FISSURE Special is an online tournament, so Mosquito Clan likely failed to contact Parker who was fast asleep. After a 10-minute pause requested by Mosquito Clan, they eventually called GG themselves. The embarrassing loss aside, this is OG’s (and possibly Dota 2’s) fastest win ever, taking only 41 seconds.

For Game 2, Mosquito Clan decided to get a replacement for Parker, being Roman “RAMZES666” Kushnarev. However, their request was denied by FISSURE because Parker was already a substitute. Mosquito Clan probably still couldn’t contact Parker to join Game 2, so they received a technical loss.

Mosquito Clan’s statement on their forfeit

Ultimately, the Mosquito Clan remained relatively collected about the whole situation and how they got a technical forfeit. They thanked Parker for attempting to step-in and play as stand-in despite the bad timing of the match being at five in the morning for the player. They even juiced the situation with some light-hearted jokes on their page for some extra brownie points.

Despite Mosquito Clan’s attempt to sound understanding of Parker’s situation, the Dota 2 community certainly did not take the latter’s apparently unprofessional work ethic lightly. Particularly, this isn’t the first time Parker has allegedly been a problematic pro player in the competitive Dota 2 scene.

Parker’s history of incidents in Dota 2 Esports

For the uninitiated, HEROIC kicked Parker a month after winning the PGL Wallachia S2 . At the DreamLeague S24 Qualifier, while HEROIC was playing against beastcoast in a decisive grand finals, there were disagreements over team strategy among HEROIC players.

This led to a game-losing fight, where Parker did not join the fight at the Roshan’s Pit when the rest of HEROIC initiated the fight. His decision to not join the fight with his teammates was that his Medusa’s ultimate, Stone Gaze was on cooldown.

This incident reportedly led to HEROIC kicking Parker , citing that he lacked the desire to win that fight, or in layman’s terms, “throwing” the match.

Parker’s pro career

Despite Parker’s infamous attitude, opinions of Dota 2 players remain divided. Parker’s fans believe that Parker has the as one of the best hard carry players to back up his arrogant and toxic attitude towards his teammates. Except, others are finding how unprofessional Parker is, and how he is quickly losing opportunities as a pro player because top-tier Dota 2 teams don’t tolerate such behavior.
