The recent major update for Monster Hunter Wilds has garnered positive reception, thanks to the amount of content it brought. Aside from a new hub area where people can gather and partake in social activities, the patch also provides more creatures to take on. One that caught the attention of many is the returning Leviathan-class monster, Mizutsune, a majestic aquatic fox-like beast that recently ran rampant in the previous entry, Monster Hunter Rise. Its addition is a boon for the latest game in one of Capcom’s biggest franchises, which makes the argument that perhaps it shouldn’t be the only one who should be graced with the opportunity of making a grand return.
On April 4, 2025, Capcom released Monster Hunter Wilds‘ Title Update 1, giving players more things to enjoy in the game, such as Mizutsune. The Leviathan provides as much action and thrills as it did during its time in the previous title, warranting it as a great inclusion. That being the case, the positive reception that the Mizutsune has been receiving could make Capcom consider adding more monsters from Monster Hunter Rise to the latest entry, especially since it has great candidates that could produce more engaging and rather challenging fights.

What Monsters From Monster Hunter Rise Should Return in Wilds
Of all the things that should be brought from Monster Hunter Rise to Monster Hunter Wilds, it’s the powerful creatures that terrorized it. Although there are so many good choices that it’s hard to pick which ones should be given the chance to return, there are a few candidates that stand out from the rest:
- The Crimson Glow Valstrax, a more powerful and aggressive variant of the original Valstrax from Monster Hunter Generations Ultimate, would deliver fast-paced fights that put players on edge
- The flagship monster of Rise, Magnamalo, would make for an interesting choice, as it could introduce players to the terrifying element known as Hellfire, leading to many anxiety-inducing yet engaging hunts
- The Malzeno, the flagship monster of the Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak expansion, would make for an excellent addition as one of the coolest and toughest challenges in the game
While all the Monster Hunter games have powerful creatures that would make for excellent returns, the ones in Monster Hunter Rise have some of the best potential. Hopefully, Capcom will consider taking more from the previous game, as many fans will likely welcome them as they did with Mizutsune.
How Adding More Monsters From MH Rise to Wilds Opens up More Opportunities
Adding some of the best-looking or strongest monsters from Monster Hunter Rise would certainly provide better hunts, but that’s not the only thing such a move can do for the latest game in the franchise. Should more return, it opens the possibility of adding other content from the previous entry besides new creatures. A good example would be NPCs who could explain why the monsters have arrived in Monster Hunter Wilds, with the best candidates being the popular maidens Hinoa and Minoto. That can even be used as an excuse to introduce the return to familiar lands, such as the Shrine Ruins or Lava Caverns, further expanding and improving the world.
Monster Hunter Rise is arguably one of the most enjoyable and challenging Monster Hunter games, and it’s all because of the mighty beasts that exist in its world. Bringing more of them into Monster Hunter Wilds can only improve the overall state of the latest entry and help keep it popular and relevant, which may just increase the likelihood of Capcom implementing a future update that could make it happen.
