The First Berserker: Khazan is certainly scratching the soulslike itch while gamers wait for Elden Ring: Nighreign’s release, but some players are frustrated by a particular achievement that many are missing out on. The soulslike genre attracts players who love a challenge, and they usually go hand-in-hand with completionists as well, who like to conquer every trophy up for grabs. The First Berserker: Khazan has 57 achievements on PC, 58 on PlayStation 5, and 1,000 gamerscore points on Xbox Series consoles, which is encouraging fans to bag them all.

The First Berserker: Khazan invites gamers to become the titular general of the Pell Los Empire, tasked with seeking revenge on his enemies after cheating death. After its late-March release, The First Berserker: Khazan released a new update for April 2025, which boosted gear potency, improved UI, and addressed balance issues. The patch also fixed an issue with the Khazan Bard Set after its effects weren’t applied properly in New Game +, and the post-game mode is also causing a problem with a specific achievement that players want remedied.

Players hoping to get some good early-to-mid-game grinding done in The First Berserker: Khazan don’t need to look far for a great opportunity.

Pointed out by one Redditor Nightterror0, a public service announcement was shared on The First Berserker subreddit, highlighting a frustrating issue with the game’s “Standing Alone” achievement, similar to The First Berserker: Khazan players’ major gripe about the game’s bosses. The Redditor noted that if players don’t obtain the achievement during a regular playthrough, they won’t be able to get it within New Game+ even if help wasn’t summoned. The silver achievement is gained when players reach the end without summoning a Spirit of Advocacy, but some players don’t receive the trophy even though they didn’t summon NPC help.

The First Berserker: Khazan’s Standing Alone Achievement Cannot Be Completed in New Game+ According to Some Players

Players have been sharing options to find a workaround for the achievement issue, matching the community effort to find a trick in The First Berseker: Khazan that lets you pause the game. One Redditor noted the issue must be a bug, sharing that they didn’t receive the True Ending achievement during their first run but were able to get it during New Game+. Most are questioning why this doesn’t apply to the Standing Alone achievement and also complain that, after summoning help, they defeat enemies on their own anyway.

Despite a few pressing technical issues hindering gameplay for some, players have The First Berserker: Khazan’s first DLC to look forward to in May. Details of the free DLC pack have still to be revealed in full, but Neople is currently developing the option to switch between the Easy and Normal difficulties during the same playthrough after the player base advocated for the feature to be added at a later date.
