My Melody has a lot of family members that can visit, one of whom is her grandmother. In this guide, we will take a look at how to set up a space for My Melody’s Grandma in Hello Kitty Island Adventure. This will also cover the requirements for inviting her, and what you need to do in order to make her a permanent resident.

Friendship Requirements For My Melody’s Grandma

For My Melody’s Grandma to become available as a visitor, you’ll need to raise your friendship with My Melody to level 17. Additionally, you’ll need to meet My Sweet Piano. My Melody only has 20 friendship levels, so this requires you to get almost all the way to maximum friendship.

After you’ve met these requirements, My Melody’s Grandma will display on the Visitor page of the menu. Here, you can also see her current travel status; when we looked at this, it noted that she would be traveling in two days.

To make a suitable cabin for My Melody’s Grandma, you’ll need to have the following requirements met.

  • Have 3x Creative items
  • Have 3x Bakery items
  • Have 3x Cottage Furniture
  • The cabin needs to be in the Seaside Resort.

Each time My Melody’s Grandma travels, she will need to have a cabin set up with these items. After she becomes a permanent resident though, you can remove these. You’ll also be able to move her designated cabin outside of the Seaside Resort when she becomes permanent.

Creative Items

There are a lot of items with the Creative tag, so the exact things that you place can vary. Any candle can function as the Creative item, and you are able to use three candles to fulfill this.

You can also put down plushies, but these are a bit resource-intensive, so it may not be the best option.

The simplest way to fulfill this requirement is to craft three basic candles. When you reach friendship level two with Wish Me Mell, you’ll learn the recipe for the White Candle, which can be made at the Crafting Station with five Beeswax and one White Dye Pouch. Just make three of these, and the requirement is complete!

Bakery Items

This is a very easy tag to fulfill, as pretty much anything that you make in the oven (in Hello Kitty’s cafe) will have this tag. If you are going for simplicity, just make three dishes with an item that you have the most of.

Cottage Furniture

Lastly, you’ll need three pieces of Cottage Furniture. The only way to get this type of furniture is to craft it from plans given by My Sweet Piano. As you level up your friendship with her, she’ll give you plans.

The piece with the lowest requirement is the Cottage Stool. This recipe is obtained by reaching friendship level two with My Sweet Piano, and is crafted with three Woodblocks and ten Wool. As with the other item types, you can use the same piece three times.

The Cottage Furniture set is quite cute, so this may be a good time to craft various pieces.
