The series mainly focuses on six teenagers who find themselves in a very peculiar situation at university. Gen V’s canon nature to The Boys universe also lets it have some major characters crossover into their series and vice versa.

Episode Two: First Day

“Why Did He Do It?”Marie And Andre In 'First Day' From Gen V.

Episode two deals with the aftermath of Luke’s passing and feels a bit underwhelming compared to the series’ strong start. Marie and Andre are painted as the heroes who stopped him, whereas Jordan gets sidelined for being bi-gender. Meanwhile, Emma opens up to a new friend, Justine, about her struggles with her powers.

As Marie moves up to university, she has a proper conversation with Godolkin’s Dean, Indira Shetty. On the other hand, Andre breaks into Brink’s office to get more information on Luke’s seemingly sudden decision to end his own life and “the woods”. As Andre is about to be cornered by two guards, he is saved by his psychic-powered friend, Cate.

Episode Five: Welcome To The Monster Club

“I Just Wanted To Make Things Better”Jordan And Marie In 'Welcome To The Monster Club' From Gen V.

Episode five doesn’t have a lot going on. It predominantly focuses on the main characters suffering from a hangover type scenario. They have no memories of where they are and the big house party that they attended last night.

Another important thing they forget is Sam, and all the rescue efforts they made. Eventually, the group is able to figure out the reason behind their sudden amnesia, and it turns out to be one of their own. The episode doesn’t have a lot going in it, despite the interesting ending in the previous one.

Episode Four: The Whole Truth

“A Lot Is Happening”Tek Knight At Godolkin University In 'The Whole Truth' From Gen V.

Sam and Emma escape ‘The Woods’ facility and hide in an abandoned building. Meanwhile, the famed superhuman deductionist, Tek Knight, arrives at Godolkin to misdirect everyone on the suspicions surrounding Luke’s death. He starts interviewing the students intensely to try and find someone to falsely pin the whole incident on. Tel Knight is the most fun part of the episode and brings the truth out about Jordan being the real savior.

At the building, Sam hallucinates a video on TV that makes him go after Dr. Cardosa from The Woods. He leaps away outside, leaving Emma, who tells her friends at Godolkin about where he is headed. While they are able to stop Sam from killing Cardosa, they suddenly find themselves in a completely different location. Indira also manages to blackmail Tek Knight to get him off of Godolkin’s back.

Episode Three: #ThinkBrink

“I’ve Always Just Been Me”Cate And Luke In '#ThinkBrink' From Gen V.

#ThinkBrink opens with a flashback where viewers finally get to see Luke talking to his long-lost brother, Sam. He is being experimented on in ‘The Woods’ and ends up killing a guard with his superhuman strength. In the present time, Cate and Andre make it back to their dorm and become intimate.

The main focus of the episode is on the tribute event conducted for Professor Brink at every high level. Jordan and Emma also deal with their controlling and ignorant parents at this event. Later, Andre makes a plan with Emma to infiltrate ‘The Woods’ facility with the help of her abilities. The episode ends in the goriest way of the series so far as she shrinks and kills a guard from within his body. A lot of neat interactions take place among the main cast, but the ones that stand out more are between them and their parents.

4

Episode Seven: Sick

“This Is The Only Way”Victoria Neuman At Godolkin University In 'Sick' From Gen V.

Episode seven is where a couple of major characters from The Boys make an appearance. Indira meets up with the former CIA Agent, Grace Mallory, to try and sell her the supe-killing virus. On the other hand, the politician, Victoria Neuman, arrives at Godolkin and has a debate about superhumans and their civil rights, which sparks an outrage.

Later, Marie meets up with Neuman to find out they share similar blood-based powers. The episode ends with Cate commanding Indira to slit her throat whereas Neuman gets her hand on the supe-killing virus and kills Dr. Cardosa. The penultimate episode of the series is fantastic as we finally get to see the world of The Boys and Gen V merge in a major way. The incidents that take place in this episode don’t just affect the spin-off series but can also cause quite the chaos in The Boys.

3

Episode Six: Jumanji

“None Of This Is Our Fault”Soldier Boy In Cate's Memories In 'Jumanji' From Gen V.

As everyone gets their memories back from Cate, Andre, Marie and Jordan unknowingly enter her subconscious brain. There they are shown her childhood memories, including her traumatic past with her mom and her first meeting with Indira.

Later, Cate also shows Marie and Jordan’s memories of where they made mistakes. This allows the four of them to have a proper moment and reconcile with each other. Meanwhile, outside, romance starts steaming between Sam and Emma while The Woods’ Dr. Cardosa and Indira successfully create a superhero-killing virus. This episode is quite creative with its plot and allows the protagonists to have some proper character development.

2

Episode One: God U

“Godolkin Is A Safe Space For You To Thrive”Luke Talking To Brinks In 'God U' From Gen V.

The first episode perfectly introduces viewers to this side of The Boys’ universe and sets the major story lines in motion. It begins with a bloody backstory for the main character, Marie, and sees her attend the famed Godolkin University. Her goal is to become the top-ranked student at the university and join “The Seven”. She meets her roommate, Emma, who quickly becomes a friend.

Due to this, Marie becomes the scapegoat of the situation and is asked to be removed. However, she finds the esteemed professor who handed her the suspension being murdered at the hands of Golden Boy. He goes on to fight against his friends and ultimately kills himself in front of them.

Episode Eight: Guardians Of Godolkin

“I Just Wanted To Be A Hero”Homelander In 'Guardians Of Godolkin' From Gen V.

Surprisingly, the finale of Gen V is the shortest episode of the series. However, it is filled with some exciting moments. Sam and Cate make their way to ‘The Woods’ and free all the superhuman imprisoned test subjects to join their cause to kill humans and expose Godolkin.

Chaos erupts at the university as Marie, Jordan and Andre fight off Sam and try to stop Cate. This is when Homelander arrives at the scene and shoots Marie with his laser eyes for “attacking her own kind”. It is then revealed that the entire story has been changed by Vought to make Marie, Andre, Jordan and Emma look like actual villains. Meanwhile, Cate and Sam are turned into the Guardians of Godolkin. The series ends with the four characters trapped in a facility and a mid-credit scene that shows Butcher discovering ‘The Woods facility’.
