Challenges To Make The Community Center More Difficult In Stardew Valley

Stardew Valley is a fan favorite. It’s considered one of the best cozy games of all time, and many gamers have replayed it over and over again. When you restart the game, you have the main gameplay, which includes the Community Center. Going through it unlocks different aspects of the game, such as the bus and train station.

Finish Each Room

The Long Haul

There are multiple rooms within the Community Center: The Crafts Room, Pantry, Fish Tank, Vault, Bulletin Board, and Boiler Room. The Crafts Room is the first one to open and is used for foraging. This is the longest challenge there is on the list. You have to go through each room before moving on to the next.

The reason this will take so long is because the first room has foraging from each season. Of course, there are ways to get foraging items sooner, such as finding them in the mines. And you can save items as well to add to future rooms to make them go quicker. But if you want the ultimate challenge, you won’t save anything and will tackle each room by itself.

Sell, Sell, Sell

Gold Galore

This next challenge is one that gives you a lot of money, but few resources. Any item that you require throughout the day has to be sold, except for one type of item. This means that you can only donate one item to the community center per day, and you can’t save anything else.

This is especially difficult for items that need to be submitted in bulk. You can collect, of course, five gold parsnips in a day to submit. But if you only manage to collect four, then you have to plant a bunch all over again.

One Year

In A Wrap

One of the more popular challenges is to finish the entire community center in a year. While this may seem easy, it’s much harder than you think. Not only do you have to have enough money to unlock the vault, but you need three sets of five golden produce, which requires a lot of money to buy the seeds for.

On top of that, you’ll have to work fast, get both a coop and a barn, and fish like crazy. Some of the harder items include the fish sturgeon, getting a rabbit’s foot (since they’re random), red cabbage and apples.

If you choose this challenge, play close attention to which items you can only get in certain seasons.

No Animals

Ignoring Coops And Barns

The next challenge is a no coop or barn animal run through. This means that for the animal budget and any materials you can get from them, you’d have to go to the Traveling Cart (which isn’t always in stock) or wait until they are gifted to you by an NPC or a loved pet (which is different from an animal that gives you materials).

Not only is this difficult because you have to rely on chance and progress to get your products, but animal products are great for early game finances. You’ll have to rely on fish, foraging and crops to make your money without them.

4

Fishy Business

One Fish At A Time

The fishing bundle can be one of the hardest, so adding a challenge really makes beating the community center difficult. For this challenge, you can only catch one fish type a day. That means if you go to the ocean and your first fish caught is a red snapper, you have to release all other fish that day.

This is especially hard because it relies on chance. You have to catch the fish you need first. On top of that, some fish require specific weather or seasons, so you have to be particular about where and when you fish to aim for the difficult fish.

3

In Order

One By One

This one is similar to the first one, but a lot less difficult. Instead of going room by room, you’ll go item by item. Which means that when you pull up a box in the community center, your donations to it have to line up perfectly. You can’t submit anything unless it’s in the right order.

For some of these it might seem simple, but if you miss a season, you might have to wait an entire year to finish up. Milk comes before eggs, truffle oil comes before cloth, and walleye, which can only be found in Winter and Fall when it’s raining, also comes first.

Ignore The Cave

Cave Diving

You have a cave on your farm which can be used for either mushrooms or fruit. Both of these options will help you get through the community center faster, but fruit has been said to help you get through the community center faster, while the mushrooms are more profitable.

You can still choose one, but until the community center is done, you can’t go into your cave. No using them for profit, nor for the bundles, which will force you to grow trees and dive deep into the mines to complete them.

1

No Upgrades

Beginner Tools

Tools are incredibly helpful throughout the game, so refusing to update them can be a real challenge. You’ll have to till soil one by one, water one by one, and it’ll take much longer to get through the mines. Not only does this include your pickaxe, it includes your sword.

The hardest one to beat without upgrades will be the fishing pole. The beginning fishing pole is really difficult to catch better fish on, and you can’t use bait or bobbers. Therefore, you’ll really have to fight to get through it.
