World of Warcraft Classic just shared a sneak peek at the Scarlet Enclave raid coming in Season of Discovery, including a first look at the environments, enemies, and secrets that lie within. The eighth major content update for World of Warcraft Classic Season of Discovery is nearly here. Though it may be the final phase of the World of Warcraft experiment, this Season of Discovery patch is the first of its kind to consist entirely of original content never seen in WoW before.

World of Warcraft Classic adds a new quality-of-life feature to the user interface that will help fans save time while playing on the retro realms.
Of all the content coming in the update, the new Scarlet Enclave raid is one of the most exciting parts – and now, World of Warcraft has shared some of the first official footage from inside the raid. The brief video shared on the official WoW Twitter revealed some of the landmarks around the raid, including a tower surrounded by a magical aura, a town under siege by the Argent Dawn, a dock full of Scarlet sailors, and the dark experiments taking place within the Enclave itself.
New Scarlet Enclave Raid in World of Warcraft Classic Season of Discovery Phase 8
The Scarlet Enclave was not playable on the PTR, but fans know a few details about it already. The raid requires between 20 and 40 players, and contains eight bosses, and though the exact list of encounters is not yet known, datamining suggests fans may battle familiar faces like Balnazzar, Lilian Voss, and Caldoran – the Scarlet Crusader who temporarily claimed the Ashbringer from Naxxramas, and thus, will likely be involved in World of Warcraft Classic Season of Discovery’s new Legendary weapon questline.
The Scarlet Enclave itself is not entirely new to World of Warcraft. Death Knights in World of Warcraft: Wrath of the Lich King attacked the town of New Avalon and the Enclave at Tyr’s Hand during the class’ unique starting experience. This version of the Enclave before WotLK is a brand-new take on it, and the raid will feature encounters, areas, and items that have never existed in World of Warcraft before.
World of Warcraft Classic Season of Discovery Phase 8 Launch Times
- April 8 – New outdoor content, profession content in New Avalon, and Scarlet Enclave-related quests.
- April 10 – Scarlet Enclave Raid and Legendary weapon questline (available at 1 PM PDT)
Players can storm the Scarlet Enclave starting April 10, but fans will need to attune to the raid in order to enter it. Luckily, they should be able to start the process of gaining access once the rest of Phase 8 officially arrives in World of Warcraft Classic Season of Discovery on April 8.
