So far, Jinwoo has defeated every enemy that was thrown at him by the world or by the System. However, the strongest Hunter from Korea will have a difficult time fighting the Frost Monarch. Sillad is a calm yet clever individual who hates humanity as much as other Monarchs, and he can go to any lengths to kill the Shadow Monarch’s vessel, Sung Jinwoo.

Sillad Is The Monarch Of Frost In Solo Leveling
He Is An Elf Who Is Also Known As ‘King Of Snow Folk’
Sillad is an Elf who takes pride in his Ice magic and doesn’t back down against an enemy, no matter what. Sillad appeared for the first time during the Jeju Island arc after he traced the mana of the Shadow Monarch. At the time, Sillad gets confused as to why Ashborn has been helping humans, but he isn’t sure of Shadow Monarch’s betrayal. So, the Monarch continued on his other mission — to kill all human vessels of the Rulers.
While Sillad and Rakan were talking about Ashborn, Sung II-Hwan was tracing the two Monarchs. Sung II-Hwan was on a mission to destroy Ashborn’s vessel, but was also tasked to bring down any Monarch he found along the way. Jinwoo’s father finds the right opportunity and attacks Sillad when the Elf was in America. Unfortunately, though, Sillad was accompanied by Yogumunt, and as expected, Hwan couldn’t fight two Monarchs at once, so he had to flee.
You think you can stand against me? I’ll freeze you where you stand! – Sillad, The Frost Monarch
Sillad continued hunting down the Rulers’ vessel on Earth, and he finally came across one, Go Gunhee. The Frost Monarch attacked Gunhee while the old man was in his office. Gunhee tried his best against the Monarch, but Sillad brutally stabbed him with his ice spear and damaged his vital organs. But before Sillad could land the final blow and feed his ego, Jinwoo arrived on the scene using Shadow Exchange.
Sillad finally got the opportunity to meet Ashborn’s human vessel, or the next Shadow Monarch. The Monarch knew that even without the full powers of Shadow Monarch, Jinwoo was strong enough to kill him. Sillad decided to play smart by fleeing from the scene and coming back to fight this powerful enemy with some backup. Little did the Monarch know that no amount of backup could help him win this fight against Jinwoo.
The Ultimate Battle Between Jinwoo And Sillad In Solo Leveling
Does Sillad kill Sung Jinwoo? Well…Yes, And No
Sillad reaches out to other Monarchs to seek help against Jinwoo. While some Monarchs, like Yogumunt, were too much of a coward to join the fight, Rakan and Querehsha joined Sillad against this threat. Rakan arrived in Korea and fought against Thomas Andre to lure Jinwoo out, and that worked like a charm. Right after Jinwoo arrived on the scene, Sillad and Querehsha also came out of hiding to hunt down their prey. It wasn’t easy fighting three Monarchs at once, but Jinwoo was still able to bring down Querehsha.
The fight was far from over, though, as Rakan and Sillad were still breathing. Sillad took on a direct fight with Jinwoo and kept the Hunter occupied long enough for Rakan to stab the next Shadow Monarch from behind. After taking a heavy blow from Rakan, Jinwoo died, but only for a while. A few moments after Jinwoo fell to the ground, his black heart started beating. What did that mean? It meant that Jinwoo was finally becoming the Shadow Monarch and Ashborn’s true successor. Sillad and Rakan realized this, so they decided to finish Jinwoo before he gained consciousness, but unfortunately for them, Sung II-Hwan arrived on the scene to save his son.

Sillad was truly powerful, but Sung II-hwan was fighting for a bigger purpose. Even though Sillad gravely injures Hwan, the former Hunter was able to buy enough time for his son to return. Knowing it was too late, Rakan fled the scene to save himself from the Shadow Monarch’s wrath, but Sillad was an honorable fighter. He decided not to show his back to the enemy and fight Jinwoo head-on. However, all that honor and rage didn’t amount to anything, as Jinwoo easily overwhelmed the Frost Monarch and landed a killing blow after destroying his trident.
Sillad was one of the very first Monarchs to appear in the story, and he had put up a great fight against Jinwoo. He plays a significant role in the story by pushing Jinwoo to his limits, which eventually leads to the birth of the next Shadow Monarch.
