Those hoping to unlock the “A Rare Occurance” Trophy / Achievement in Assassin’s Creed Shadows will need to find and observe five legendary animals. Four of these are tied to specific seasons, while three can only be found at night, which has the potential to be very frustrating if players happen to miss one.
Completing all of the legendary Sumi-e is relatively straightforward, providing players know when and where to look for them. However, due to the way that seasons work in Assassin’s Creed Shadows, missing one can lead to a six-hour wait, so it definitely pays to keep an eye on the time.
Legendary Wise Macaques Location
- Location: Little Leaf Glade, Yamashiro
- Time of Day: Night
- Season: Any
Players will be able to find the Legendary Wise Macaques in a field to the north of Sarumaru Shrine, which is in the Little Leaf Glade area of the Yamashiro province. They can be found in all four seasons, although will only show up at night.
Legendary Sakura Shika Deer
- Location: Yoshino, Yamato
- Time of Day: Night
- Season: Spring
The Legendary Sakura Shika Deer appears at nighttime during spring. Players can find it to the southwest of the Lumber Yard in the Yoshino area of Yamato.
Legendary White Tanuki Location
- Location: Shimmering Fields, Omi
- Time of Day: Day
- Season: Summer
Players will be able to find the Legendary White Tanuki in the summer during daytime hours. It’s right by the Shigaraki Hamlet, which is in the Shimmering Fields area of Omi.
Legendary Silver Fox Location
- Location: Nakahechi Route, Kii
- Time of Day: Night
- Season: Fall
The Legendary Silver Fox can be found howling at the moon at the Kamimisu Inari Shrine in the Nakahechi Route area of Kii. It appears at night time during autumn.
Legendary Red-Crowned Crane
- Location: Lake Suigetsu, Wakasa
- Time of Day: Day
- Season: Winter
The Legendary Red-Crowned Crane can be found on an island to the southeast of the Amiko Estate in the Lake Suigetsu area of Wakasa. It shows up during daytime hours, though only during winter.
