Based on iconic properties from Walt Disney Animation and Pixar Studios, Disney Dreamlight Valley has managed to skyrocket to success. As one of several simulation games based on big-name IPs, Disney Dreamlight Valley is arguably the most popular of this sub-category of simulation titles. While the new characters and worlds that have been added to Disney Dreamlight Valley have been almost exclusively from Walt Disney Animation and Pixar Studios properties, references to other IPs under the Disney umbrella have made their way into the game through various furniture pieces, clothing items, and motifs.
These additions have been fairly tame, though, with references to the Disney parks and Disney Channel original movies, like Hocus Pocus, being the most common. However, there’s a chance that Disney Dreamlight Valley could start focusing on some of the bigger franchises under Disney’s control, including Star Wars. Perhaps there could even be a spin-off game entirely dedicated to that IP.

What a Stand-Alone Star Wars Spin-Off Could Look Like
Disney Dreamlight Valley has already laid a great foundation upon which a Star Wars spin-off could be built. A central hub in Disney Dreamlight Valley houses various Realms, which are based on the characters that appear in the game. In a hypothetical Star Wars spin-off, these Realms could be replaced with different planets, which could serve as the settings for various character-based quests. After all, it would be fitting for players currently working on quests for Yoda to take part in training on Dagobah, while players who are leveling up with Luke could spend some time on Tatooine.
In the game’s Star Wars-themed version of the Valley, the biomes could reference the franchise’s various planets while still being unique. In Disney Dreamlight Valley, players must find various items for recipes and other quests in the Valley’s many biomes, and it would only make sense for a similar mechanic to be present in a Star Wars version of the game.
But the Friendship system and relationships with Villagers are, arguably, the most important aspects of Disney Dreamlight Valley, and they would also need to be at the center of a hypothetical Star Wars simulation game. Just like DDV, the game’s characters could have ten levels of Friendship through which players could advance. Additionally, as players make progress with these characters, the characters’ alignments with either the Dark Side or the Light Side of the Force could impact the Valley itself.
Disney Dreamlight Valley Might Add Star Wars Soon
While a Star Wars spin-off is possible, slowly adding the property into Disney Dreamlight Valley may be more likely. If Disney’s upcoming feature films are primarily spin-offs, reboots, or sequels of already existing properties, the total number of films from Walt Disney Animation and Pixar Studios might grow, while the number of unique characters remains somewhat stagnant. This means that the pool of new protagonists and worlds from which Disney Dreamlight Valley could pull may not grow significantly, and the game may ultimately need to turn to other Disney properties.
Disney Dreamlight Valley also adds a surprising number of characters each year. The game updates once per season, with at least one new character appearing in each update. In addition to these routine updates, Disney Dreamlight Valley usually announces a new Expansion Pass that is divided into two chapters and adds many new characters to the game. If Disney Dreamlight Valley continues to limit itself to characters and worlds from Walt Disney Animation and Pixar Studios releases, the well that Gameloft has been pulling from will dry up quickly. Though Disney may be tempted to allow Gameloft to expand into Star Wars, the company might make more money if it released a new Star Wars simulation game all on its own.
