Season Four Of The White Lotus Could Be An "All-Star" Season

HBO’s The White Lotus is known for two things – shocking twists, and star-studded casts. With the show renewed for a fourth season, we might see those two element align like never before. With that, we could see some major names beloved in the fandom come back to the murderous resort for a second stay.

Directed by William H. Macy, its low rating means The Layover circles back around to being watchable.

One of the disappointments with The White Lotus being an anthology series is that you only get to see each cast member for a single season. However, that might not be the case soon. Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter in a cast interview, showrunner and creator Mike White teased the possibility of doing an all-star season – and at least one cast member is certainly up for the project.

“I’ve Heard Rumours Of The White Lotus Doing An All-Star Season”

Patrick Schwarzenegger, who plays Saxon Ratliff in season three, invited the topic, saying, “I’ve heard rumors of them doing an all-star season”. Series creator White then responded, “I’d love to do that.” Though not definitive, Schwarzenegger wasn’t giving up, adding “They could get all the douche guys in one hotel together. Mike said that one day when we were on set, he was like, ‘Oh my God, it’d be so good to get you, Jake Lacy, and Theo James in the same room.’”

If it did happen, there would be a couple of questions to answer. Would this be a return of the characters themselves, meaning we’d get to see the likes of Haley Lu Richardson’s Portia interact with Sydney Sweeney’s Olivia? And if so, given everything that happened to all of them there, why would any of them be in a rush to return? Or would it be the actors themselves coming back, put playing totally different roles?

“You Have To Try New Things”: Ana de Armas On Playing Evelyn Hugo In Seven Husbands

Ana de Armas has long been a front runner for the Netflix adaptation, and she might have just taken a step closer here.

That would let the cast showcase their range, allow the show to bring back actors who played characters that died return to our screens, and probably make writing the premise either – it would be no different from a regular season, aside from needing to fit pre-cast actors. But would that be too confusing for the casual viewer? And would bringing back fan favourites only to have them play completely different parts be playing with fire?

The White Lotus is one of the hottest shows on TV right now, and after a killer finale, is set to return soon. Whether that’s with new faces, old faces, or old faces playing new faces, we’ll just to wait and see.
