Summary
- Pawmot Drop Event in Pokemon TCG Pocket offers new Promo-A cards and shorter event duration.
- Changes include guaranteed Promo-A booster packs as “First Time” prizes for each difficulty.
- Use Fighting-type decks for Pawmot event missions and focus on Expert difficulty for Promo-A packs.
Pokemon TCG Pocket has launched the Pawmot Drop Event, introducing five Promo-A cards, including a new full-art variant of Pawmot, the event’s featured Pokemon. What’s more, April’s Drop Event, the sixth of its kind in Pokemon TCG Pocket, seems to have undergone some slight changes.
Pawmot’s Drop Event will only last ten days, four days shorter than the previous five events. The reason for this is that the event now has a new reward system that adds one TCG Pocket Promo-A booster pack to each mission’s “First Time” prizes. In other words, players are now guaranteed to earn four packs by defeating the Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced, and Expert enemies for the first time, and they can still earn extra packs through each difficulty’s random rewards.

Fans think Pokemon TCG Pocket should remove one aspect of PvP battles because it is slowing down the game, but the solution might not be that simple.
TCG Pocket‘s Pawmot Drop Event will end on April 16, 2025, at 10:59 PM PDT. During the activity, players can unlock Promo-A Vol. 6 booster packs, which contain one of the five new promotional cards: Machamp (P-A 051), Floatzel (P-A 053), Pawmot (P-A 054), Ekans (P-A 056), Bidoof (P-A 057). For those curious, TCG Pocket’s Promo-A 050 is the controversial Mewtwo ex that is locked behind a paywall. Promo-A 058 and 059, however, are expected to be released during an upcoming Wonder Pick event.
- Machamp (P-A 051) = 15.82%
- Floatzel (P-A 053) = 23.84%
- Pawmot (P-A 054) = 12.66% drop rate
- Ekans (P-A 056) = 23.84%
- Bidoof (P-A 057) = 23.84%
While all the cards in the Promo-A Vol. 6 set feature alternative artwork, two of them also include new stats and moves: Ekans and Floatzel. The new Ekans joins TCG Pocket’s Darkness archetype with a fresh move, Poison Sting, which is guaranteed to Poison the enemy with one Energy. The reworked Floatzel, on the other hand, has +10 HP and a move called Attack the Wound, which deals 70 damage for one Energy, provided that the enemy is already damaged.
Players looking to complete the Pawmot Drop Event quickly and farm Promo-A packs are advised to use a meta Fighting-type deck. Since all event decks are Pawmot-themed, a Fighting-weak Pokemon, TCG Pocket’s Lucario & Rampardos deck, or the newly popular Gallade ex & Hitmonlee are ideal choices. It’s also worth noting that only the Expert difficulty guarantees a Promo-A pack drop. So, players aiming to farm these packs should focus on replaying the Expert difficulty rather than Beginner, Intermediate, or Advanced.
