The Nintendo Switch 2‘s reveal has been a mixed bag. While fans are pleased to finally have a good idea of how the console will play and what games we’ll be launching for it, the Direct was immediately followed by a very unpopular price reveal for both the hardware and the games.

However, if there’s one thing that the majority of fans are pleased to see, it’s that GameCube games will finally be made available as part of the Nintendo Switch Online offerings. This is being kicked off with three titles on day one: The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker, SoulCalibur 2, and F-Zero GX. While more have been confirmed for release further down the line, there’s a glaring omission so far: zero Sonic games.

Fans Are Hoping That Sonic Games Will Make It Onto The Switch 2

Over on social media, Sonic fans are putting forward what games they would like to see made available through the Switch Online GameCube library. The obvious ones would beSonic Adventure DX and Sonic Adventure 2: Battle, especially since the latter was loosely adapted in the latest Sonic movie. The games have remained fan favourites for years too, with constant calls for a sequel or remakes, so these would likely get a lot of attention on the Switch 2.

However, fans would love to see some other Sonic titles made available on the service. Shadow the Hedgehog is another contender, which would also be fitting after the success of the film. Then, there are Sonic Heroes and Sonic Riders, both of which are incredibly nostalgic for many fans of the series.

Hopefully, Nintendo will see this demand and work with Sega to make these re-releases happen. I mean, sure, I don’t think Shadow the Hedgehog has gotten any better with age, but the vibes are immaculate, and the soundtrack is banging. That in itself is worth preserving for the next generation of Sonic fans. And Sonic Adventure is Sonic Adventure – the more ways to play that, the better.

In the meantime, Sonic’s social media is actually dunking on Nintendo right now, so that’s some kind of collaboration, I guess.
