  • mo.co is reworking Squid Blades to fix matchmaking imbalances in Rifts.
  • Chaos Shard farming exploit is also being patched to prevent infinite XP from pass loops.

If you are playing mo.co regularly and aiming for a leaderboard position, then you might have already heard about the Chaos Shard farming. Not only that, for Rift battles in mo.co, some players are misusing the Squid Blades ability to stay invisible. To keep the game fair for everyone, Supercell is patching both.

No more FREE XP from the Premium Pass with Chaos Shard Farming

Let me first explain how this works. Some high-level players on the global leaderboard are using this trick to get an unfair advantage to earn XP from the Premium Pass and get ahead of others. When you defeat monsters on the battlefield and pick up the Chaos Shards, it will still help you to get the free 5000 XP from the premium pass.

While this may not sound much at first, if you keep doing this, you’re surely getting a lot of free XP to level up. Because of this loop exploit, Supercell is now taking steps to make sure the game remains fair for everyone. And there will be a limit on the number of times you can get the looped reward.

mo.co’s Community Manager Joao.co mentioned, “Chaos Shard farming is giving players an advantage on the leaderboard over those playing the game as designed.”

However, he also mentioned not to worry about this since this will only affect the highly engaged players who grind the game a lot. “Don’t worry, this won’t affect most of you: more than 99% of players won’t notice a difference.”

Squad Blades are getting a major rework

When I first picked up Squid Blades in mo.co, the best part was its ability to stay invisible. But thanks to some players who broke the matchmaking by staying idle if not all 4 of the Rift teammates aren’t using Squad Blades. This cool ability is going away as mo.co fixes Squid Blades.

“Because players can only take full advantage when all teammates are equipped with it, some were intentionally losing when matched with non-Squid Blade users.” mentions Joao.co.

I do not remember if I have experienced this poor sportsmanship during my playtime in Rift battles, but this is really bad for the community. Thanks to Supercell for realising this quickly.“To balance things out, we’ll buff other aspects of the weapon and make a few changes to keep its coolness.”
