Hemsworth had shown interest in the performing arts at a young age. His family has an inclination to acting, with both of his brothers — Luke and Liam Hemsworth — being in the same industry. He made his Hollywood debut in Star Trek (2009). However, he became a household name when he was cast as Thor in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). He reprised his MCU superhero role in The Avengers movies and is set to return to the franchise in Avengers: Doomsday. He also starred in four Thor movies — Thor (2011), Thor: The Dark World (2013), Thor: Ragnarok (2017), and Thor: Love and Thunder (2022). Kevin Feige teased that Avengers: Doomsday will officially feature more characters than they previously announced.

Hemsworth was among the celebrities who were in attendance at Amazon MGM Studios’ presentation at CinemaCon 2025 in Las Vegas on April 2, 2025. At the event, he admitted that he was intimidated working with Harry Berry in the film. In a joint interview with Berry on the red carpet, he expressed how he felt working with the Academy winner and shared his filming experience with her. According to the Spiderhead actor, some actors do not just bring out the best in their co-actors, but they also offer an opportunity to explore new ideas and “try different things” and that was what he experienced with Berry on set. Hemsworth said:

I’ve admired Halle’s work for many, many years. I was obviously very intimidated to sit opposite her within a scene and try and, you know, not just be in awe of what she was doing.

For her part, Berry praised the Avengers star for standing up for her. The Never Let Go actor alluded to something that happened on set and how Hemsworth supported her. She didn’t go into details but said the incident made him a “fan” of the Marvel star. “I knew right then I’m gonna follow this guy, be a fan of this guy for the rest of his life because he stood up for a woman. He didn’t have to do it and he did it,” Berry shared. From the look of it, Berry and Hemsworth enjoyed their filming experience together and would love to have a reunion project. Hemsworth is confirmed to appear in Avengers: Doomsday. There were rumors that Berry might also join the film and reprise her X-Men character, Storm, since several X-Men stars were in the cast announcement like Patrick Stewart (Professor X) and Ian McKellen (Magneto). However, the Doomsday reunion for the pair is unlikely to happen because Berry said she’s “not gonna be there.”

Berry and Hemsworth’s Crime 101 is definitely a must-watch. Aside from the two actors showing mutual respect and admiration for each other, both are into high-octane roles. Berry has proven herself to pull off action scenes in multiple movies. She plays an ex-assassin in John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum (2019), a mother who relentlessly chases her son’s abductors in Kidnap (2017), and a badass Bond girl in Die Another Day (2002). She also stood out in psychological dramas like Monster’s Ball (2001), where she played a grieving widow navigating trauma, and Gothika (2003), where she was trapped in her own mental institution. Berry is a great actress, so it’s understandable why Hemsworth is intimidated despite his own accomplishments as an actor.

Seeing Hemsworth and Berry together on one screen is enough to pump up your adrenaline, especially since it is a heist movie. There will definitely be cat-and-mouse dynamics between law enforcement and criminals. The film also stars Hemsworth’s Avengers co-star Mark Ruffalo as Detective Lou Lubesnick, who is determined to apprehend Davis (Hemsworth), the master jewel thief. Meanwhile, Berry plays an insurance broker who finds herself entangled in Davis’ criminal endeavors.

Crime 101 will be released this year.
