Is Dragon Ball Daima Goku Stronger Than GT Goku?

Since Dragon Ball Daima took several inspirations from Dragon Ball GT, it is only natural for fans to compare the two versions of the protagonist. Over the episodes of Daima, the Goku from that series has achieved a form previously exclusive to GT: Super Saiyan 4.

Dragon Ball Daima: Why Can Goku Transform Into Super Saiyan 4?

Ever wonder what allowed the Super Saiyan 4 transformation? Here’s how it happened.

This begs the question: which of the two Gokus is stronger, the one from Daima or the one from GT? Their Super Saiyan 4 forms, while having their differences, have incredible similarities that make them feel the same, so are they equal or is one mightier than the other?

The Similarities

With Daima being clearly based off of GT, several aspects of our favorite Saiyan repeat themselves from one series to the other. Both shows have Goku’s last great enemy being Majin Buu, they are both transformed into children, and they have to travel off-world to solve their issues.

They both lose some semblance of power in their child bodies, but how much isn’t clear, since they are still the strongest warriors at any given time. Their biggest transformation at the beginning of each series is Super Saiyan 3, but perilous circumstances throughout the show have them both unlocking the power of Super Saiyan 4.

The Differences

One obvious difference is the cosmetic look of each Super Saiyan 4 form, both in the color palette and in how the transformation is achieved. The GT version has Goku gaining new clothes each time he transforms, for example, but that has little to do with their power output.

Before recovering his tail, GT Goku had some stamina problems and a hard time keeping Super Saiyan 3 up, while Daima Goku doesn’t seem to have the same issue. However, GT Goku has little issue maintaining the Super Saiyan 4 form later on, possibly due to that form forcing him into an adult body.

Daima Goku first transforms into Super Saiyan 4 with his child body, but once he recovers his adult form, he can still access the new transformation just fine.

The might of Super Saiyan 4 was more than enough for GT Goku to defeat his first major foe, Baby Vegeta. This is hard to measure against Daima, since Gomah isn’t necessarily stronger than Super Saiyan 4 or 3, he just outpaces them by constantly negating damage done to him.

Which Goku Is Stronger?

Due to the added years of training GT Goku has due to his placement in the timeline, he is easily stronger than Daima Goku. It is even alluded at points that his child body is just as strong as Majin Buu was, and that is without transforming into any Super Saiyan form.

It could be argued that, if both of them had a fight in their child-like bodies, Daima would have the upper hand due to having less difficulties controlling it. But since they both end up as adults (or adult-like) and in their Super Saiyan 4 form, we can say that with a stronger base body comes a stronger transformation.
