With hundreds of thousands of people having purchased the game on Steam, Schedule 1 is already one of the biggest hits of 2025. The game doesn’t offer amazing visual quality or a massive open-world experience, but it does allow players to feel the risks and challenges of living a criminal lifestyle.
The game is still in the early access phase, and it will take some time for the one-man developer behind it to release new content or add some of the most commonly requested features. However, with modders around, there’s nothing to worry about, as there are already around 200 Schedule 1 mods available.

How to Install MelonLoader
Before downloading your favorite mods for Schedule 1, you need to install a third-party program that handles them. MelonLoader is a free and safe mod loader that is specifically used for the games developed using Unity, which is the case for Schedule 1.
So, head over to this link and download MelonLoader from the official website. Now, run the .EXE file, and when installing the mod loader, make sure to choose Schedule 1 as your target game. Once the installation is over, there should be a Mods folder created in the directory of Schedule 1. This is where most of the mod files will end up.
If you can’t find the game’s directory, just run Steam, then right-click on Schedule 1 and click Properties. Now, head to the Installed Files tab and click on Browse. This is the directory of Schedule 1, and the Mods folder should be visible there.
How to Install Schedule 1 Mods
Most Schedule 1 mods include a .DLL file inside a zipped folder. The installation process for these kinds of mods is quite easy. All you need to do is to unzip the downloaded file and then copy the .DLL file inside the Mods folder in the directory of Schedule 1. Next, run the game and press the corresponding key to activate the mod. Each mod is usually activated by pressing a certain key that is explained in the mod’s download page on Nexus Mods or whatever source that you use.
On the other hand, some mods come with other file types like Configuration Settings. These files should be copied inside the main directory of Schedule 1 rather than the Mods folder. Usually, it’s the graphical mods that require Configuration Settings. Also, it’s worth noting that some mods come with certain requirements. These are, again, highlighted in the download page of a mod. The requirements are usually third-party apps that come in the shape of .EXE files. Some mods just won’t work without having the requirements installed.
Last but not least, it is highly recommended that you only download mods from credible sources. Communities like Nexus Mods or Mod.io are safe places to download mods, so by sticking with those, you can avoid potential scams and viruses that could end up damaging your PC.
