How to Get Eastern Honey in Monster Hunter Wilds

Not to be confused with regular Honey used for making all types of Potions and other items, Eastern Honey is a valuable cooking ingredient in Monster Hunter Wilds, particularly because of the benefit it provides when consumed with a meal.

Thankfully, there are a few different methods to obtain Eastern Honey in the game. One way is via Item Trade with either Gawdygog or Ren. Gawdygog, one of the Wudwuds, can be found at the Wudwud Hideout in the Scarlet Forest. Meanwhile, Ren can be found at Sild – The Keeper’s Vigil in Wyveria.

Once you establish trade with either or both of them, you can more easily do so by talking to Nata, who acts as your Village Intermediary (a middle man, essentially) for all of your accessible trade routes. Occasionally, they’ll have Eastern Honey available in exchange for certain items, such as Ancient Wyvern Coins (seen above).

Other ways to gather Eastern Honey are via open world exploration. For example, you may get lucky while gathering from a beehive in any of the game’s main regions, and it’ll give you Eastern Honey instead of (or along with) regular Honey.

Catching Vigorwasps with your Capture Net is also another way to improve your odds of obtaining some.

How to Use Eastern Honey in Monster Hunter Wilds

Eastern Honey is a cooking ingredient, meaning that it’s used solely for grilling meals at your Tent or anywhere you choose to use your Portable BBQ Grill. When possible, you should always have a well-crafted meal active, even if you’re just exploring rather than fighting. After all, certain ingredients can even help with obtaining higher amounts of resources.

As for Eastern Honey, you’ll want to allocate it almost exclusively for battle. When added in the ‘Finishing Touches’ category of the ‘Grill a Meal’ menu, Eastern Honey increases the amount of health recovered when healing, making any health recovery items you use more powerful across the board. This alone can make or break a battle, depending on the situation, so it’s easily one of the best choices.
